“Charming experience, great value”

The room was full of character and located off a lovely courtyard. Location in the older part of town was convenient to souk shopping. Services available at related Arabian Court Hotel were good. Internet access worked fine in the courtyard. I would go back and recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable old town experience.

“A great place to stay for a special occasion”

We stayed at the Orient Guest House to celebrate my 40th Birthday and it was fab - really authentic Dubai and not one of the sterile hotels we could have stayed in.Staff were really friendly and the hotel is well situated for the creek,museum,souks etc. Would definitely go back.

“Nice location, even nicer service”

The location was great, in the middle of the charming Bastakiya quarter. I loved the scene, the small scale and the authenticity of the hotel. Very convenient to go to Deira as well by the taxi boats. The staff was extremely friendly! For us the charm of a small hotel was important and the experience very good.

“Beating Heart of old Dubai”

Great staff, cozy atmosphere without being intrusive and most importantly - great aircon in the bedrooms. Ideal location for the Dubai museum, arrived at 2.00 am from Egypt to find a very helpful butler who attended all our needs. 65 dhiram cab from the airport (directed driver to Al Musalla post office as advised). Basta cafe in the same courtyard area is wonderful and good value for lunch. You can use the pool at the Arabian courtyard (and laudry service). I most enjoyed sitting in the courtyard at the end of the day listening to the call to prayer while Rodrigo made me a tea and turned on the outdoor fan. There was a mountain of breakfast available very morning, breads, cereals, juice, eggs, bacon, sausages, chilled fruit and excellent coffee on tap. Thanks chaps for looking after us.

“An oasis of calm”

The location is close to the Creek, the courtyard and staff are charming and the personal service is great. The rooms are simple but distinctive and relaxing. Only downsides: in summer, the courtyard will be too hot to use; the noise from the guests in the courtyard can travel in the quiet; traffic can slow getting to and from. Nevertheless, I'd recommend it- a lovely place.

“Arabian Ambience- very impressed”

We can definitely recommend the Orient Guest House- it has a very Arabian decor, yet has been modernised for today's comfort expectations.Split-cycle airconditioner worked well, in-room safe, ensuite bathroom was a little cramped with low lighting, but clean & OK. Breakfast (included) in the delightful outdoor courtyard was generous, tasty and well-presented.Our taxi driver had no problem finding it,altho we heard some other guests did have a problem.Expedia directions are good (opp Mustafa Post Office).Arrived at 2.45am. Guest House is down a pedestrian-only lane off Al Fahidi street.We were instantly met on street by night receptionist who had seen us arrive in taxi on CCTV.Very quiet- guesthouse is part of the Bastakiya buildings.Orient Guest House is owned by Arabian Courtyard Hotel, 3mins walk away & guests can use gym & pool there, as well as concierge to book day tours. Easy walking distance to Dubai Museum & fort, Dubai Creek and ferries across Creek to gold, spice & textile souks in Deira.Easy access to airport & Port Rashid Cruise Ship terminal.This place had character and we would definitely stay there if we go to Dubai again.

“There's a cosy hotel in Dubai, would you believe it...”

I am very glad that I used Expedia to find a hotel in Dubai. Instead of an overpriced marble palace I found a comfortable small bed and breakfast just around the corner from the Sheik's residence and near to several museums. Everything was just right! I shall choose the Orient Guest House again. Contrary to the feedback on Expedia it is easy to find.

“Good value for Money and great for central Dubai creek area.”

A small hotel which was conveniently situated for the centre of Dubai. Just opposite the Bur Dubai Post Office which should help the taxi in finding it,behind the Art Cafe, in a pedestrian area. A short walk from the abras for the Gold Souk etc. Staff were very accomodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

“Very impressed”

The hotel can not be reached directly by motor transport but is within 50 meters on foot from nearest road. The location of the hotel was close to the Dubai musium and the old souke. The entrance and the courtyard where the reception was located is full of charm and character. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor leading of the courtyard. Breakfast consisted of a very good selection and was self service.

“Charming guest house with impecable service!!”

Orient Guest House was a delight to stay at. Based in the Old Bastika Area the guest house is full of charm and the court yard where the guest rooms open up to is a lovely area to relax and enjoy breakfaxt in the morning sunshine. The Ariabian Courtyard ( the main hotel) is a 3 minute walk away where you can enjoy relaxing by the lovely pool and enjoy the restaurants. I would particularly recommend the Mumtaz Mahal. Orient Guest house is perfect for exploring the Old Dubai and a 5 minute walk away, you can catch an Abra across the creek to expolre Deira! I would recommend this to anyone as the rooms are very confortable and big compared to some of the rooms we stayed in Dubai. A hidden jem!
