“Perfect”
This was our second stay at the Westin but our 1st with our two children, from the transfer from the airport to leaving the hotel there is nothing we can fault. The hotel is 1st class and great for the kids. The staff in Blue Orange were so lovely, and Friday Brunch (Bubbalicious) is a must. We loved our stay at the Westin and cant wait to return.
“One incident almost marred the overall experience”
The Westin is a beautifully laid out resort with excellent facilities, especially the gardens, pool and beach areas. We were particularly please by the segregated area for adults in the gardens so that you can, should you choose, have a more peaceful stay. There is a 25m lap pool as well as a more leisurely 'canal' type pool stretched between two pool bars. Be warned, if you want a quiet time, do not stay in any of the rooms above the Senyar Bar / Nightclub, club nights are Tues, Thurs and Fri. The noise until 02.30 was unbearable and necessitated a change of rooms which was executed later that day but it made for disrupted stay. The hotel's first apology to my complaint was unsatisfactory however I was eventually satisfied by senior management's belated response to further comment. The hotel is a ten minute walk through Media City to Nakheel metro station which connects to Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall and the airport, although walking anywhere is a bit haphazard in Dubai as pavements aren't always complete. The metro is very easy to use. It is in close proximity to Jumeirah Beach Residence and the associated cafes and restaurants which are worthwhile visiting. It is also only a $20 taxi ride to Madinat Jumeirah, an Arabian-themed shopping, entertainment and hotel complex with good restaurants, I would highly recommend an evening visit. Overall, one incident marred what should have been a peaceful and relaxing stay in a high class resort hotel.
“Nice location on the beach”
Great choice if you are in Dubai for beach and sun. New hotel so everything still "up to date". Hotel does not have the charming atmosphere like the neighbouring One and Only but the pool , beach and rooms are great. Quality of restaurants also OK but again miss atmosphere, you don't know if you are in the Arabic world or somewhere in Europe or US.
“Moving Rooms Killed My Resort Experience”
When we checked in they gave us a room with no view although we paid for seaview. After contacting the reception, they agreed to move us but the process took 3 hours when we were told it would take 20 minutes. The process ruined our day and entire resort experience.
“Fabulous beds but luke-warm buffets”
Great room - heavenly beds are superb Eating and drinking venues are shockingly expensive at the hotel. Beach side is great - plenty of beds and a child-free area. 5 star venue and although staff were friendly and willing the service missed the mark sometimes. Buffet breakfast was horrendous - hot food was only ever warm and supplying the buffet adequately seemed to pose problems
“Stayed there 7 times already”
Beautiful hotel, excellent service (especially by the pool or on the beach).
“You don't always get what you book”
Firstly, I have to say that the hotel, facilities and location were immaculate. I have marked the service down for the following reason only. Having booked a room with sea view, we were told on arrival that no such room was available, and that we would have to accept a ground floor room. Only when we insisted on receiving what we had booked and paid for were we offered a second room, to be available late in the day. This meant that after a 16 hour flight from Australia and arriving at the hotel at 6.30am, we were obliged to check in to the first room to shower and change and then repack before going out, then fully unpack in the second room on our return. This was not a good start to our stay.
“Westin Budai - HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!”
A five star hotel that provides 1 star service. Issues began at the check-in process and the staff illustrated a "don't care" attitude to not having the original room request available, my sea view room was a tree view - no quality assurance to assure that if your room is a sea view you can actually see the sea. Original booking stated that the booking included breakfast and at check-in told that it did not include breakfast. Was told the following morning that they do currency exchange at the reception desk and once they checked the exchange rates and discovered that it was not in their advantage they would not exchange my currency. Overall experience was VERY disappointing and would not return or recommend this hotel to anyone.
“go back only when reception staff is changed”
quality hotel v good size rooms bath and shower. stayed on sixth floor sea view. not happy with the view as your looking out @ harbour then the sea. breakfast is good, expensive. staff @ reception are not profesional @ all a real let down to fab hotel. staff really do need to more profesional. e.g siham a real spoilt brat, busy on face book rather then deal with needs of customers.
