An expensive bad choice!!Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Very little
Cons: Most things starting with the reception staff.
Location: Close to O'Connell then within short walking distance to Trinty College, The Book of Kells, Henry Street, Grafton Street, National Art Gallery etc
Location maybe in the centre of the city however the area is seedy and very dirty. Street entry to the hotel is litered with cigaretes butts and other rubbish from a rather noisy club next door that seems to operate 24/7. There is no parking at the hotel and parkng that is offered is in a shopping centre car park, hence luggage has to be portered considerable distance to the hotel. The parking is not free though a reduced rate is offered for hotel guests. Reception staff are not helpful and the city map handed out was an extremely poor quality, smudged photocopy in black and white; almost impossible to read. Despite booking a Queen room, our room contained a double not Queen sized bed. It had one small, dark window overlooking the air conditioning ducts. Artificial lighting was needed day and night despite bright sunny days. Each night was a different rate for the three nights we stayed and increased in price for each night. The final night was three times the cost of the first night which seems hard to comprehend as it was the same dingy room. The tea and coffee were not refilled daily without asking. The breakfast, not included in our room rate, was offered at a discount rate. It was acceptable though nowhere the standard we had been offered in other establishments throughout our three week stay in Ireland. This is my third stay in Dublin and definitely my worst accommodation. I would not recommend this hotel as it represents expremely poor value for the money spent.

Very noisyPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: It was central to everything and right next to the bus stops
The hotel was very central which was good but I was very disappointed with the size of the room and with the noise comming from the sports bar next door until 2.30 in the morning. We could not sleep and although it was hot it was far too noisy to open the window.

Excellent location but can be noisy and busyPosted Jul 17, 2014
Very central, neat and affordable. The staff could have done that little bit more to make you feel welcome and more responsive to your needs. The rooms we had were almost directly over a late night rock and roll pub which thumped the base notes until dawn ... there was a lot of construction work nearby and there was large bus groups at the hotel = noisy, busy and not great if you want to relax! Overall the good outweighed the bad.

Great Location, but a few drawbacks...Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Not sure what can be done about the noise from the disco next door, except for the disco to magically go away, which may not happen soon...
Location: Near everything there is to see in the city, and far removed enough from Temple Bar to avoid the touristy congestion there.
I had stayed in this hotel a few years ago, and had been very happy with the experience, so much so that I had booked the same place again this year (July 2014.) Unfortunately, and possibly because I had booked the room through Expedia this time, we were given a minuscule room (once our luggage was inside, it was quasi impossible to walk around the bed!) facing the street, and close to the disco that is located next to the hotel. This resulted in being very cramped in a room where the loud noise/music from the disco could be heard until at least 2:00 a.m. I now actually feel bad that I recommended this hotel to a good friend who is going to be staying here in a few days. I think that she will hate me for having recommended it if she gets a room similar to the one to which we were assigned this time around... But the location is excellent, and the staff extremely affable and helpful. The breakfast buffet is not cheap, but fine, and it's a plus that the hotel has a bar.
