“Convenient,Clean,great staff, central location”

Staff very friendly and helpful , hotel very clean, centrally located , walking distance from O'Connell Street 747 bus from airport ( 10 euro round trip) Bathroom large for Europe. Room decoration rather spartan with limited cable and a 13 inch screen but you don't go to Ireland/Dublin to sit in your hotel room and watch TV. Regularly scheduled Irish Breakfast very good and filling and staff willing to make adjustments in time of breakfast to accomodate early schedules for airport or tours but you won't get the full Irish Breakfast but you will get toast cereal and fruits along with coffee and tea. I would go back.

“Best, friendliest, and accomodating staff in the w”

The staff were the best that I've ever encountered in my 50 years of extensive global travel. Of course there was one minor glitch. There was no place except the floor to place your soap & shampoo, and during peak bathing hours the water temperature was a bit erratic. This in no way would prevent me from highly recommending the hotel.

“Like a B&B with a great location”

The hotel is rated as a 3 star, which is accurate. It is an older stle hotel that feels like a B&B, because the lack of in room amenities, like a safe and refrigerator, and a very small tv. However, if this is not a concern, the hotel is a great stay for the value. The staff is prompt and meant all of my service needs, and for a constant traveler that has stayed at 4 star hotels or better, their service was that or better! The location was two blocks from city center, and there is a great cafe next door. The hotel's vault resturant had well prepared and tasty dinners! This was shocking seeing how most hotel restaurants are overpriced and tasteless, but this is a rare occasion, and the prices are comparable to around town; try the grilled chicken, great! P.S. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows.

“Ideal for Women Travelling Alone”

Friendly, comfortable place.It felt like staying with city cousins.At the quieter end of CBD but short walk to O'Connell St. I arrived feeling very jet-lagged and loved that I could have a sleep, and just walk downstairs to the basement bar and restaurant, which had live Irish music and wasn't expensive. Don't know why it is called the Castle. Looks like a row of terrace houses with a rabbit warren of passageways inside. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. All staff are friendly and willing to help with any requests. I didn't have a car, but watched people trying to get in and out of access laneway to parking. Not for the faint hearted.

What can I say about "The Castle?" From the owner. to the reception staff, and all the hard working others, this is a remarkable hotel. The kitchen is good. As my wife said, "with this quality, why eat anywhere else?" They handle large numbers, but with genuine care. We'll be back. For ceretain we'll be back.

“Awesome Experience”

We had a wonderful time in Dublin. There is something for everyone to see and do in this city. The hotel was convenient to everything (just blocks away from the center of Dublin) and taxi's as well as buses were easy access from the Castle hotel as well. We wish we had more time to spend there. The hotel was clean. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We had easy access to the elevator and stairs. A fire door kept any noise from the stairs or elevator away from our room. Traffic noise from the street was evident but we chose to open our windows (we had great weather) and the noise really was not a problem. We enjoyed our stay at the Castle Hotel immensely.

“A gem in Dublin”

The Castle Hotel is a gem. It is a privately owned Georgian stylehotel, decorated with antiques. I felt like i was staying in someone's mansion. It also has a lift, which is wonderful when you are hauling luggage around! The owner ,Tom, introduced himself to me over dinner. On Friday & Saturday nights they have Irish musicians playing in the lounge. The hotel sits just off Parnell Sq., across from the Garden of Remembrance. The location is right near the bus line and convenient to shopping areas, too. It is staffed by friendly people and they serve a full breakfast each morning. I will definitely go back!!

“Great Location”

The hotel was comfy and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location wasn't too bad either... just a 10-minute walk to the bottom of O'Connell street and another five minutes or so to Trinity College. The breakfast was hearty and a great start to the day. Rooms were clean and tidy.

“Pleasant find!”

I guess I was expecting a dive of a hotel. After all, reasonable price, excellent location by the main street O'Connell, breakfast complimentary. But I really liked the place. It had character and charm but the lobbies were quite roomy and full of old paintings and prints. The breakfast was surprisingly hearty and fast. It was tasty and a huge savings on my short holiday. The owner happened to be there when I arrived and he gave me a complimentary upgrade. Heck, he even told me lots of good stories and jokes while giving me a choice of rooms. The rooms were smaller, but I wasn't going to stay long. For Europe, that bathrooms were roomy. The front rooms face a busy street so may bother some; stay in the back rooms if you do find that an issue. Great way to visit Ireland for the first time.

The Castle Hotel is among the nicest 3 star European hotels we've ever visited. From the location--you can walk the entire city from here To the hotel itself-clean, friendly, and the oldest hotel in Dublin To the comfort of common areas, the bar and the restaurant, not to mention the nice quality and quantity of the food in both the breakfast and the hotel dinner menu To the staff--all very friendly and accommodating...the management is working very hard to provide a pleasant stay If we're ever again in Dublin....it's The Castle for us.
