“A Regal Experience at the Castle!”
Clontarf Castle is a beautiful and historical place. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating always. We highly recommend this property.
“Amazing unique place”
Great hotel with the added benefit of being in a real castle. Little ways outside central Dublin but that made it more peaceful. Easy bus ride into Dublin.
“Castle living was great”
Neigborhood was very quiet and the people were very nice. The staff, especially the concierge, were very helpful and curteous. Quick bus or taxi ride to Dublin Centre.
“Fantastic Experience!”
I booked 3 rooms in this hotel for me and my family. The experience was great! The hotel staff always very kind and recepitve made our stay a pleasure and returning to Dublin we will really stay there again. Nice reception services, great concierge services and impecable restaurant, bars and pub options. The only negative point is the distance from downtown Dublin, but options such bus (EU 1,65/per person) in front of the hotel gate and taxi (around EU 15,00) are great to solve this issue. We really recommend this to everybody.
“Great hotel to visit!”
The hotel was a bit difficult to find, but friendly Irish neighbors gave good directions so we persevered and found it. Glad we did! Lovely accommodations, delicious dinner. Great service. I will stay there again if my budget allows!!
“Beatiful castle”
This castle/hotel is located in a quiet residential area few minutes away from the city center and the Dublin airport. Service was excellent. Rooms very modern with fast internet service.
“Clontarf Castle Hotel”
My wife and I had a very good stay in Clontarf Castle Hotel for several days on our trip to Dublin. The hotel itself was pretty impressive looking inside and out, and there's a rich history behind it and the area. The room did seem a little small (we got the double bed), and the bath tub and shower didn't feel wide enough- we're not big people. Other than that, it was great. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe enough to walk around at night, and there's a couple good restaurants within walking distance. Getting into Dublin city center was easy enough. There's a bus line right down the road that'll take you there for a couple euros, but the days we didn't have a rental car we caught a taxi right outside the front door. And, if you have the energy, Dublin city center is only a couple miles away, so it can be easily walked. All in all, after a day in busy Dublin, this hotel is a great place to get away from it all and relax.
“Nice...but not impressed”
My wife and I stayed here for one night when we arrived in Dublin for our honeymoon. We thought it would be nice to stay in a "castle" for a night so we chose this one because of the proximity to Dublin's city center and because the price was reasonable compared to other castle hotels. The building is beautiful and the overall impression of the staff was nice. The room we had was a little small but quaint except for the skylight which made the room uncomfortably warm until the AC kicked in. The hotel has a number of different eating options which range from pricey dining to bar food. No meals were included, but breakfast was inexpensive for a hotel if you go to the Indigo Lounge. If you are traveling from Dublin Airport be prepared to either take two separate city buses (the second drops you off at a location about 7 minutes walking distance from the hotel) or have about 30 to 35 Euro for a taxi. All in all we found this place to be nice and relaxing but a bit pricey and in an inconvenient location if you were to try to venture into Dublin's city center (this didn't matter to us since we were spending six more nights at another location on St. Stephen's Green.
“Amazing experience”
Absolutely beautiful and historic location in a real castle with great history. I have never met such helpful, professional staff. Food was excellent. I was there for a wedding, and even then, the quality of all courses of the meal were equivalent to an excellent individual restaurant meal. Bed was very comfy, and room facilities were excellent. Minutes from the city centre by taxi or regular bus service. And amazing value. Check it out!
“exceptional experience”
My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights in Clontarf Castle just prior to Easter this year. The hotel was glorious. The staff could not have been friendlier, more pleasant or more helpful. Our room was in the modern section of the hotel, so next time we would like to request a room in the original buildining, but that and the fact our stay was so brief are our only regrets.
