“Gem just outside of Dublin”

My husband and I stayed in the Clontarf Castle Hotel while on our honeymoon. It was a quiet, convenient location, close enough to downtown Dublin to enjoy that scene but far enough out to relax. It was an excellent stay for us, the staff was friendly, available and very helpful for us.

“Irish Castle/modern boutique hotel hybrid”

This was a great one-of-a-kind experience, truly out of the ordinary. Not terribly expensive for U.S. travelers but has all the comforts expected in a top-class hotel. Very helpful concierge service. The 3 restaurants within the castle walls are a bit pricey ($40/person for a scrumptious breakfast buffet!), but the food is quite good and varied. We would highly recommend the Clontarf and got a good deal through Expedia.

“Gorgeous! Would definitely go back in a second!”

We stayed at the Clontarf Castle Hotel for our honeymoon and it was everything we wanted! Convenient access to Dublin City Center and the airport. Hotel staff was exceptional and always eager to help with any questions we had. I think we've been spoiled now and when we come back to Ireland will definitely want to stay again!

“Great hotel and great value”

Clontarf Castle is a very unique hotel -- modern in all ways yet it integrates a 12th-century castle into its architecture -- particularly the main lobby area. Very cool. The bar is very large and extremely nice. Location-wise, it's a very short cab ride (15 euros) into Temple Bar, or a somewhat long walk to the rail station and two stops. While the location is not perfect for Dublin sight-seeing, the rate is extremely good and for the money you save you can take a cab back and forth and pay for a few Guinneess beers too.

“Castle Experience”

This is a wonderful place to stay, the rooms are very comfortable up to date. Did not feel like the average hotel stay. Would of stayed longer if I would of known how nice and very resonable price.

“Don't ask for directions to the hotel”

hotel was very nice once we found it.We called the hotel for directions ,which were useless. We were driving from belfast to dublin and it was dark by the time we arrived in dublin.Their dirctions got us lost soon as we entered dublin.we called the hotel to redirect us but were giving more confusing directions. We stopped at a airport hilton hotel where the the staff helped us considerably, they even contacted the hotel to get the directions accurate and were getting confused by the directions they were recieving too. They printed a map out for us which helped somewhat but yet again we got lost.We pulled up to a car on the street and asked for help and after some more confusing directions they told us to just follow them. And yes we did find our hotel if not for this nice woman, otherwise we would probably still be driving around the suburbs of dublin.

“Can't wait to gack”

We saw a review of this hotel on the Travel Channel and remembered it when we planned our trip to Dublin. It was even better than described. Not just beautiful but the staff were so accommodating and friendly. We were even able to rent bicycles and ride them out to the nearby fishing village of Howth. We cannot wait to return and will stay here again.

“over-all”

Friendly and helpful staff, very nice facility, not close to downtown so you will need a cab to see anything. We were very pleased

“Holiday in a real castle”

The hotel was all we thought it would be. We had wanted to stay in a castle, and this hotel definitely fit the bill. It has tastefully been modernized, and to it's credit, a very good job. Yet, it's decor still has the feel of a medieval castle...complete with suits of armour! The room was roomy and very comfortable. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful, even answering our "silly American" questions. We caught a bus to Dublin just a few blocks away, so even though it is not in the downtown area, the city is very easily accessible. The hotel is situated in a very nice neighborhood, and we even were able to go out walking in the quiet neighborhood. We ate in the restaurant in the hotel for dinner, and it was the best food we had our entire trip! We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we ever get to go back to Ireland!

“Fantastic Hospitality”

We recently stayed at Clontarf Castle Hotel. It was the last night of our honeymoon. The Castle itself was beautiful and conveniently located. What made it so much more memorable for us was the fantastic staff! Once they found out it was our honeymoon, they upgraded our room for us. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We had the best scones-hot out of the oven-with jam and clotted cream. Wonderful hotel. We will definitely recommend it to others and visit again!
