A beautiful historic hotel near everything!Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: The location is great if you want to be near both Downtown Dublin and the Airport without the traffic headaches!
Cons: Offer a guest shuttle to both airport and downtown Dublin on regular basis. We had to take a bus...a short walk to the stop.
Location: The bus stop is a short walk down to the main street. Instead of trying to drive and find parking, we opted to take the bus. Glad we did!
This historic hotel was once a castle and although it has been modernized, it still captures the beauty of the architecture and the bar/pub has medieval appointments and amazing ceiling! We only got to spend one night here but would have loved to have stayed longer

Great hotelPosted Jan 22, 2015
This hotel is wonderful. I stayed for two nights. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The castle itself is absolutely stunning. The only downside is the location. I knew it was outside of city centre but on several occasions, due to time constraints or early morning activities, the bus wasn't an option and taxis got expensive. I really enjoyed the experience but will probably opt for something closer to the city centre of Dublin next time.

Location: PASSAGE D'UNE NUIT SEULEMENT

Beautiful hotelPosted Jan 5, 2015
We had a very enjoyable stay at Clontarf Castle. Did have a problem getting served at the bar in the evening, staff could do with making eye contact with customers & found manager off hand

History feel to hotel - shame about room servicePosted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: Old history feel
Cons: Room Service
Location: Wasn't there long enough to explore the area
Stayed with my husband for one night before heading to the airport. Rang room service several times on arrival to get some in-house food. There was no answer. Had to go down to the bar which was extremely busy and struggled to get a table. With an early morning flight the next day requested breakfast in our room for 7.30. It arrived over a half hour late. Just not acceptable service. There was a wedding in-house the night we stayed and guests kept us awake banging doors and talking well past 4am in the morning. A lovely hotel - just shame about the service.

Wonderful Castle and locationPosted Jan 1, 2015
It was wonderful to stay in a Castle with so much history. With only 111 rooms, it was the perfect size and the staff was extremely helpful. Nice room and size. Location was awesome being able to walk to the bus stop and pick up bus 130 was super easy.

Have stayed here before and loved it but this time around it left much to be desired. The room was the most uncomfortable I've ever stayed in for quite some time. Rock hard bed with scratchy sheets, paper thin walls and an actual gap in the bottom of the door! It was as if the people in the hallways and other rooms were sitting right next to you...even ear plugs couldn't provide enough noise cancellation for us to sleep! I used to love this hotel, but I highly doubt I will be returning to pay that much for such a bad room experience.
