Very Nice

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable bed, helpful staff and great bar.
Cons: Restaurant food was not terrific and the service was average.
Location: The hotel is not too far from town and is on the on and off bus route, so it is convenient to the happening places. Very convenient to the airport.
This was by far the most comfortable and most "American" of the hotels we stayed in on our trip, except that this was in an old (but very much updated) castle. The bed was very comfortable and the accommodations up scale. A little pricey, but on the last day of our trip, it was nice to make the transition to a really comfortable bed before coming home the next day. The restaurant was not as terrific as the hotel and it was weird that they said they had no reservations available, since when we went to the restaurant to double check, there were plenty of empty tables and they finally accommodated us, but only after speaking to a manager. The bar was very nice and had a couple cool places to share a drink with friends and the front desk worker was very helpful with an unusual request. Overall though, it was a fine place and very enjoyable.

Honeymoon

If you're from Canada, keep in mind that local calls are not free. There is a black cat that hangs out around the castle... He's cute we named him Tarfy!

Pros: Best food!
Cons: You could provide face clothes. None were offered in towel selections.
Location: Dublin is wonderful with so much to do. Recommend taking the on/off bus tour to see as many sights as possible.
It was a very nice hotel, with excellent facilities and delicious food. Staff was exceptional.

MY MOTHER'S 85TH BIRTHDAY TREAT

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: EVERYTHING
Location: A VERY SHORT DRIVE INTO DUBLIN AND A BUS STOP OPPOSITE
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL. THE STAFF WERE SO HELPFUL AND THE SERVICE WAS SUPERB. OUR ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND VERY STYLISH. WE ATE DINNER AND BREAKFAST IN THE FAHRENHEIT GRILL. BOTH MEALS WERE DELICIOUS.

Cons: The smell of the carpets in hallway and the front lobby area was not pleasant even though it was some kind of perfume. Too strong.
Location: Easy to get bus into Dublin
I expected more. The room was small and the carpets in the hall smelled of some kind of perfume that was annoying to me. The shower was good and basically the castle was fine.

A great castle hotel

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Everything
An authenic castle turned into a hotel. Beautiful castle and grounds complete with a couple of Irish Wolfhounds. Can't say enough about how competent and friendly the staff was. Accomodations were clean and well kept and beautiful grounds. Great restaurant and pub.

Romantic Getaway

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The grounds were amazing, the staff was friendly, the restaurant had great food.
Cons: The shower could be bigger.
Location: You need to cab (or take a bus) to town but there are so many things to do when you get there. The hotel is near the water so you can take walks.
We went here for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. The hotel room is beautiful and luxurious, the bed is extremely comfortable and the hotel itself is amazing.
