Great place to visit Dublin fromPosted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: It's attractive, has a great staff, excellent food and is convenient to Dublin.
Cons: Our room's safe was missing. They suggested that we move to another room, and it turned out to be a bit less nice than the original one. No biggie.
We had been in Ireland seven days when we arrived at the Clontarf Castle. We enjoyed eating there the first night, and headed out to see Dublin by taking public transportation into the city, rather than being hassled with the parking in town. It was a good decision as the bus was an easy commute, and we enjoyed walking around town all day. In the evening we took a cab back to the Castle, also very easy and inexpensive. The hotel's staff was extremely helpful with any and everything. The hotel also is only a short drive to the airport, which was a nice convenience for us on the last morning.

Where to stay on the outskirts of DublinPosted Mar 24, 2014
We had a wonderful stay at Clontarf Castle Hotel. We had a rental car, so it was nice to stay outside of the city center to avoid charges to park our car. A taxi to the middle of Dublin (Trinity College) was only 13 Euros. Our room was very large, with a very modern and beautiful bathroom. We had wonderful scones with clotted cream each morning in the bar instead of a full breakfast in the other dining room.

Very OddPosted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: It was clean, and the beds were comfortable.
Location: The hotel is located outside of Dublin, across the river, in a neighborhood.
We did not like this hotel. The ambiance was odd. The old castle was preserved as a facade for the modern interior, and the two did not mix well. It was like staying in an Irish themed hotel in the center of Hong Kong! We arrived on a Friday evening, and the hotel was hosting a wedding reception. Very noisy. It continued late into the night, and the music was pounding through the walls, which seemed to be cardboard thin.

Wow!Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: It was beautiful, the service was wonderful and the food remarkable. All in all magical!
Cons: They are doing a great job, can't think of anything.
Location: The bus into Dublin City centre is nearby, and the DART just a short walk. The Dart will take you out to Howth, or around to Greystones...
My daughter chose Clontarf Castle for her destination wedding. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. They were also quintessential professionals. The wedding went beautifully and my daughter had her fairy tale wedding!

A great Hotel & a great place to Visit Dublin fromPosted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: Food a little pricey.
Great staff, great accommodations, a terrific exterior and a very nice pub. Above all the friendless and professionalism of the staff cannot be beat.

Fantastic break awayPosted Feb 22, 2014
Clontarf Castle has bags of character and the employees demonstrated quality customer service .The hotel is situated close enough if you wish to take a stroll and check out the local amenities and with as little as a 15 minute journey you can be in hustle and bustle of the Dublin centre.

Pure perfection!Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Character, cleanliness, friendly staff
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: Perfectly situated for visiting Dublin centre. Not too close to busy centre, but not too far away to visit! We'll worth visiting Howth, just north
Amazing hotel, with great architecture and history. Perfectly positioned for visiting Dublin. Staff really friendly, and food in the Fahrenheit grill is outstanding. The hotel is very clean and Although busy, has a nice family feel atmosphere about it. Had complimentary wine and strawberries/chocolate on arrival as they knew it was our honeymoon. Lovely touch! Will definitely be revisiting in the summer! Couldn't fault the place! Thanks guys!
