Best place to stay for Dublin

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Staff are top notch. They take pride in their hotel and it comes through in their attitudes.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Location is just outside of Dublin. The bus is right outside the door to the city center.
This place is absolutely amazing! The rooms are very well appointed, the grounds are impeccable, the food wonderful. Half the fun is walking around the facilities and seeing the d├ęcor. You feel you are wrapped in luxury.

Excellent hotel just outside of Dublin proper

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: It is minutes from the N-4 to Dublin and the M-50 ring road which affords excellent access to the south of Ireland.
This hotel was a very pleasant break for us. The grounds are magnificent with well manicured lawns, fountains, etc. with peacocks roaming the gardens, and an orstrich ( sp?) and two lamas in an adjacent field. The breakfasts were fabulous, and the dining room was excellent in the evening. The room in the Golf wing was excellent as well - larger than I expected. The only criticism I have is that while they do have extensive meeting facilities, they do not have a business center with computers and a printer to handle matters which a smart phone cannot do. In addition, they do accept dogs, but be certain to include that info in your reservation request inasmuch as they only have six rooms where they do accept them. Summary: If we are going back to Dublin, I would not consider any other place.

Excellent place, maybe best in winter.

We were so happy with this hotel. If we came back it would probably be in winter since they have no a/c. Pictures don't do it justice.

Lovely old country house

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: It was individual and kept lots of country house character and beautiful gardens
Cons: Bathroom could be updated
Location: Only stayed en route to Dublin so don't know.
This is a lovely old country house with lots of charm and character. Nice bonus of a small but warm swimming pool and lovely steam room. Much nicer experience than a modern hotel chain and good value for money.

Very convenient hotel for ferry port

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Very nice hotel especially for those travelling with dogs. Also very convenient for Dublin Port-only 25 minutes from ferry terminal. Rooms allocated to people with dogs are in a separate block of semi-detached suites with their own parking space. Also plenty of open space for dog walking.

Pros: The hotel is located in a very scenic location.
The 1st night in the hotel I didn't realise that the heating in the room was turned off. I slept through the night and picked up a terrible flu. I missed two days of my first week in a new job on account of this. I believe in reception they should advise people that the heating needs to be turned on in the room. I also found that the bar staff were very aloof and you had to wave franctically or jump up and down to get service. They seemed to expertise in ignoring people or giving them the cold shoulder, you would imagine they were giving away free food and drink which is far from the truth..
