Excellent HotelPosted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Everything! Coach service direct from airport to hotel.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Situated in beautiful area within walking distance of coast and Dalkey town which has interesting shops, pubs and restaurants and Dart to Dublin city
Lovely hotel with superb staff - willing to help in any way they can. Big choice of well cooked breakfasts, together with choice of juices, cereals, fresh fruit and pastries. Great view from our balcony. Within walking of Dart station at Dalkey with easy access to centre of Dublin. We visited at the beginning of December and the public spaces were beautiful decorated and some roaring fires. Will definitely stay again.

Good location with easy city connection.Posted Nov 15, 2014
Pros: Its location and grandeur. Connections to the city via the Dart railway are easy. The lounge is nice and busy with locals meeting for tea and lunch.
Cons: New flat screen televisions, up dated decorations to the rooms. Cleaner upholstery in the rooms.
Location: It rained almost constantly which was a shame because the the heritage town of Dalkey looks worthy of exploring on foot especially the coast.
The allocated room with a sea view was disappointing. To see the sea you had to be on the balcony and look over adjoining balconies. However this said, we were allocated an executive room which was much larger with a good sea view, but no balcony. We found the hotel very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. Room décor is a bit dated and the lounge furniture in the room grubby, otherwise clean enough. The room we had was one which had an adjoining room with a door. It was not very sound proof. The Dungeon Grill restaurant was comfortable and the food good with a reasonably priced menu. We did not have breakfast and so cannot comment on this aspect except to say the breakfast area looked very inviting. The leisure facilities are privately operated and whilst adequate need a bit of tending loving care.

about the best you can do in the areaPosted Nov 10, 2014
old facilities and clientele. But still something distantly authentic and historic. Yet sort of dilapidated. About the best I've found in the area. Far lower quality than Westin, W or even Hilton or even Marriott.

Friendly staff and nice facilitiesPosted Nov 3, 2014
We enjoyed our time there! Our family all stayed in the same room. We were pleased with the large beds, free extra bed, and accommodating staff!

The perfect example of Irish HospitalityPosted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: I loved how there was a beautiful park within walking distance from the hotel.
Cons: A complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the local village would have been ideal. As well as offering umbrellas that can be borrowed.
Location: 100 acre park within walking distance along with a charming tea room at the main entrance.
From the minute we walked in we were welcomed. They were able to check us in 3 hours prior to check in which is rare in any hotel. The restaurant inside the hotel was charming, efficient and delicious.

Sadly gone downhillPosted Oct 17, 2014
This was my second occasion of staying here. I found this time place was looking tired and shabby not only in external / internal decoration but in furnishings as well. Examples were stuffing / feathers coming out of chairs so your clothing would be covered, chairs well worn, decking area unkempt and with chipped furniture and stained flooring, in bathroom mismatched and ill fitting toilet seat, taps not fitting properly and missing grouting on tiles, bed linen torn and not fitting bed properly I returned to stay here because of the positive experience I had before. Not sure what has happened in the meantime. That said the restaurant is still good, the bar food is good and plentiful and the staff were very helpful when we had a problem. If is a lovely building and stunning location so I do hope it is restored to its former glory

Majestic Hotel Great LocationPosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The great location, the relaxing, comfortable room and great staff.
Location: The village of Dalkey is a charming heritage town, within easy walking from the hotel. Many good restaurants/pubs, shops, parks and history.
Located in the beautiful heritage town of Dalkey, the Fitzpatrick offeres an old world charm. The Fitzpatrick is the only hotel in this area, so not a lot of tourist, which makes for much quieter stay than perhaps Dublin, this we enjoyed. Dalkey has many charming shops, great restaurants and pubs, parks, ocean views and nice people. We loved and used the trains to get into Dublin to see the sights. The rapid transit system is easy to use and a convienent station is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel provided great service, very helpful staff, rooms with nice views that were comfortable and clean. Beautiful landscape, with expansive lawns and large chestnut trees, where we took full advantage of the outdoor seating the hotel provided. Did eat dinner in the hotel resturant, the food was excellent. Very enjoyable stay at the Fitzpatrick and would stay there again.
