“Great place to stay!”
The staff were absolutely wonderful--they were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious even by American standards, let alone European ones; very clean and even had bathrobes there for your use. It's about a 20 minute walk to Grafton Street or any of the main attractions, but there is a DART station close by and if you have one of the tour bus tickets, Merrion Square is not so far. I would definitely stay there again if I can make it back to Dublin!
“Clean, Quiet, Nearby Train Station”
Excellent value, good service, and well furnished modern rooms. Nearby DART station for easy access to City Centre and coastal towns. Good food in on-site restaurants/pub and also nearby Schoolhouse Hotel Pub. Amusing TV channel with tropical fish and classical music. Best connections with Dublin Airport via AirCoach (drops you off two blocks away) vs AirLink (a much longer walk). Suggested activity if you wake up too early due to jet lag - ride the DART train south for the sunrise along the coast then back north. This local commuter train in clean and safe and opens several hours before any museums/tours even on weekends. They have a one-day unlimited service pass for a reasonable cost.

We had a wonderful experience in Dublin and it was centered on our stay at the Grand Canal. The food was wonderful the staff delightful, the room was beautiful. the staff was extremely helpful, arranging for our bus travel and seeing to our needs in every way. I want to thank everyone at the Grand Hotel for making our stay so very pleasant.
“It was okay.”
We had requested a double bed but were given a room with two twins instead. The room was a little on the warm side, but when we opened the window to cool things down, cigarette smoke came into the room. Other than these issues, the room was comfortable and the staff very nice and helpful.
“Grand Hotel Dublin Review”
The hotel was a great deal. It was clean and comfortable and the free parking was great. It was a little from the downtown area in Dublin, probably a 15 minute walk.
“great hotel-excellent pub”
The staff was so friendly, kind, and helpful. We arrived in Dublin at 11am, and did not expect our room to be ready, we just went there to store our suitcases so we could walk around Dublin for the day. Lo and behold, both our rooms were ready and we checked in early and caught a nap before spending the afternoon touring. A great pub is connected to the hotel. It is within walking distance of city centre, and the desk clerk was so helpful in assisting us with maps and bus routes. And it's far from the noise of the temple bar area.
“Grand place to stay”
Good location,it was just about 15 min walking distance to Trinity College. The staff were very nice and the staff in the pub at the hotel were fantastic!! The only real grip is it cost 1 euro for 8 mins to use the computer...thats way over priced. In the UK, it's 1 pound for 20 mins. None the less, I would stay there again and would recommend to my friends & family. I will also put pictures and put my review on Tripadvisor. Thank You
“Grand Canal in March”
My room was in the back of the hotel, so I heard service personnel at night discussing all manner of complaints regarding clients in the hotel to hotel supervision, and relationship issues. The trash compactor was operated at anywhere between 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. in the morning, not to mention recycling sorting that was being conducted every time the trash was brought out. The cleaning service started at 8:30 in the morning so trying to sleep in was impossible. The hair dryer was bolted down inside a desk drawer in the sleep quarters and the cord would not stretch to the mirror which made it impossible to see what you were doing with your hair style.
