“Good for the price we paid”
The Harcourt was fine for the bargain price we paid through Expedia. I would not have been as pleased had we paid rack rate, since the beds were a bit soft and saggy and the walls thin (we could hear noises from other rooms). The television didn't get many stations (or maybe we just never figured it out). The desk always seemed to be a bit short-staffed, but people were friendly and helpful when they had time. The room was very clean and prettily decorated. We had plenty of room with one double bed and one single. We were not bothered by any noise from the bar, and were in an annex two doors down from reception. The location was very good, close to both St. Stephen's Green and the lovely Iveagh Gardens. It was a fairly short walk to Grafton St., Trinity College, and museums. I would go back to the Harcourt again.
“Good Value for the Price”
We stayed at Harcourt for one night in September at the beginning of our trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming - they were able to get a room ready for us upon our early arrival around 11AM, which was nice after an overnight flight! It's conveniently located and in walking distance of many attractions - we walked to St. Stephens Green, Temple Bar area, Grafton Street and Guinness Factory (we took the 123 bus to the factory, but walked back). We took the Aircoach bus from the airport to get here (8 Euro p/p), and it was only about a 5 minute walk from the Lower Leeson St. bus stop. A cab ride to the Heuston train station the next morning from Harcourt was only about 12 Euro (and the front desk arranged the pick up in advance to keep us on schedule). Breakfast is offered in the attached restaurant and is okay for a quick bite on the way out. The rooms were standard, we had enough room to move around. We were on the ground floor of the attached building next door and we did hear what sounded like a big party going on outside our window (on a Tuesday night!), but it wasn't so loud that it kept us awake. Overall, I thought it was a good value for the price we paid for a quick night in Dublin.
“Harcourt Hotel review”
The Harcourt hotel is in a great location to visit Dublin. Perfect walking distance to shopping, pubs and plenty of sightseeing. There is a nice bar and restaurant at the hotel and the courtyard is very nice to relax in. The only bad thing about this hotel is that you can hear the dance club at night in your room. The noise was very loud and this goes on every night. So if you want a quiet place to stay this is not the location for you. If you want to party all night and don't care about the noise then you will be fine. The rooms are clean but small.
“Great value on Mondays and Tuesdays!”
We were very impressed with the location and hotel room at Harcourt. Close walking distance to Stephen's Green. Very large and spacious with at least 12+ ft. ceilings. One caution: the room comes with ear plugs. However, the bar/nightclub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Also, the trolley runs right beside the hotel and can be heard outside the windows. We were very comfortable as we stayed on a Monday night, but evidently it can get very loud on other nights.
“Nothing wrong, but no frills”
The location is great, with Iveagh Gardens to the rear and St. Stephens Green/Grafton Street a couple of hundred yards away. The hotel bar (d-two) is very nice with lots of screens showing live sport. The room is very standard, but i suppose that's what you pay for - nothing wrong, just don't expect to spend too much time in there.
“So Loud.”
Good hotel, for the price I definately expected worse. So loud at night. Club downstairs and the sound outside is undescribably loud. Wednesday and Thursday nights were both so loud that Wed we went down and joined the party, Thursday we couldn't sleep and stayed awake until our wake up call at 4 am. Fantastic hotel for the budget traveler who doesn't want to stay in a hostel. Good location. Everything was clean except the walls needed a wipe down. Would only recommend to people who plan to be out until the wee hours.
“Harcourt Hotel”
The local night life (outside) was a bit rowdy but the thoughtfully provided ear plugs solved that! I would happily stay there again.
“OK Hotel”
The price was good and was convenient to get to from the Dublin Airport by bus. There was much noise from band music and outside noise from people in the streets. The tram also runs right in front of the hotel and that adds to the noise. The hotel is close to many areas and restaurants in the area are plentiful. Hotel people were very friendly.
“nice location”
We stayed here for one night. I recommend you take a taxi to it unless you know your way around Dublin. The taxi wasn't expensive from the hotel to the airport, just under 20 euros. The streets around the area can be very confusing when trying to follow on a map and there is a taxi stop just down the street when you need to leave. The hotel itself was very accomedating for our short stay.
“Great central location, walk to St. Stephens, Trinity College etc.”
Charming old hotel carved out of an old European townhouse. Gorgeous old mouldings & architecture. Tiny rooms with even tinier baths squeezed out of the rooms. We are familiar with the older hotels & buildings so were fine with it. Staff is very helpful & friendly.we were away from the bar so the boisterous patrons didn't bother us. You can walk to everything of interest. Don't be put off that any meal is between 12 & 15 euros for entree as that is what it is all over Ireland ! Look at the News stands/Subway type fast food places for good cheap sandwitches that are reasonable.
