“unbearable noise”
Lovely old hotel, nice breakfast, but on Monday and Tuesday nights the disco across the street was partying on the sidewalk, incredibly loudly, until 4:00 in the morning. Impossible to sleep. Not the hotels fault, but really a problem.
“Friendly and Comfortable Hotel”
This is a pleasant comfortable hotel with friendly staff. It is necessary to have a car but parking is readily available. It is a good base to explore Kerry.
“A Noisy Experience”
I've seen many reviews regarding this being a noisy hotel because of the nearby nightclub traffic. However, my experience was noisy for an entirely different reason. I was given a downstairs room that was beneath the lobby area. Why they would situate a guest staying for an entire week under the lobby and towards the front of the hotel where it's common knowledge that nightclub traffic can be heard in the wee hours of each morning is beyond me. The walls & ceiling must be paper thin because I could hear every single guest's footsteps and luggage rolling across the floor as they either checked in or checked out. I could hear peoples' conversations in the hallway as clear as day. The noise factor completely ruined this experience for me.
“Nice but noisy”
The staff was fine. The room was quite small. Our room was facing the street. There were disco clubs across the street and even during the week from about 11pm - 3am it was like grand central station with lots of yelling and shouting. Even with earplugs I was kept awake.
“Would not recommend”
I would not recommend a stay at Harrington Hall. Unless you are at the back of the hotel, the rooms are very noisy - to the point where sleep is impossible. Additionally, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and the rooms themselves are quite dated. All of this is unfortunate because the location is great and the staff was friendly enough.
“Nice, quiet and clean”
A little bit away from major attraction but very quiet hotel. I got a backside room and I didn't experience any noise problem mentioned by others, even during the weekend. Forget the breakfast and no wifi... but there's an access to a computer with internet (extra charge).
“great location”
Harrington Hall was situated in a great location within walking distance of most major attractions. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. We booked a triple room for three guest's and there was plenty of additional space for luggage and just plain sitting room.
“O.k. option close to Steven's Green”
Great location and o.k. price. Rooms are small and not very attractive. Location is of course fantastic. staff friendly in a low key fashion.
“Pretty good place to stay”
This hotel was clean but old. The room was adequate for our needs. It was hard to get to with all the one way streets. For the price it was worth it.
“Great staff, too much noise”
The staff was very helpful and polite, but as other reviewers have said, you will not be able to get much rest in this hotel. The last night of our stay, a helicopter hovered over the hotel because of some fights that had broken out at the clubs across the street. It's a shame that the clubs are allowed to make nights miserable for the hotel guests because as long as the clubs are there, I can't recommend Harrington Hall.
