Herberton ApartmentsPosted Aug 18, 2010
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment. It was very spacious with 3 double bedrooms, a bathroom, 1 ensuite & an open plan kitchen/dining/livingroom & 3 separate balcony areas. I found that the apartment had not been cleaned to a very high standard - I washed all surfaces, the dishes we were going to use, chairs & table as these had not been done. The bathrooms however were clean. The kitchen was well equipped with pots & pans, but lacked a sharp knife. There were plenty of shops nearby (10 mins walk) for groceries. The underground parking was very secure & closeby. The leisure centre was brilliant - lovely swimming pool & a separate hydra pool. The beds were very uncomfortable. These apartments are not luxury, but are student accommodation. According to a local taxi driver, the surrounding area is not safe at weekends, but we stayed during the week & didn't see any trouble.

Stay clear.Posted Jul 25, 2010 on Hotels.com
The good: 1. What staff were about seemed friendly. 2, Secure free car park. 3. Free Wifi. 4. Enough space. The bad: 1. Apparently a 24 hour reception, which is not the case. 2. The cleaning was poor, floors not swept or mopped meant black feet or socks if walking around without shoes. The toilet had not be cleaned properly, and under the seat was worse than a public toilet. 3. No shower curtain, but that wasn't too much of an issue since the shower was worse than useless. The pressure was non existant which caused the water from the shower to cling to the shower hose and drip off at the base, not one just of water at all. Apparently, they would sort this out for me, but nothing happened. 4. As there was no shower, I had to take baths, which, with the thick layer of dirt and scum around the surface didn't make for a nice experience. 5. On turning up at the apartment, the place wasn't ready for me as they "didn't think I would arrive yet". Kitchen utensils didn't arrive for over 24 hours. 6. Don't be fooled by the website, these aren't dedicated holiday apartments, they are student accomodation, where when an apartment becomes vacant, they let it out. 7. One night local children decided to throw stones at all apartment windows which continued on and off until about midnight. If you have any choice, do not stay here. I checked out early in the end.

WOULD BOOK AGAIN A*******Posted Aug 31, 2009
Really i was very impressed, the apartment looked like it had never been used before, the floor on arrival was a little dusty in the corners but everything was freshly washed and smelt of cleaning products. In honesty id imagine the dust bunnies which lurked in the corners had appeared after it was prepped for our stay, certainly was as clean as my own home so we were happy, ive seen others review these apts as dirty. the underground carpark was really secure andwe loved the health and fitness pool, although it lacked much for children was very modern and well maintained. the luas tram was only feet from the doors but we wernt bothered by much noise and we stayed in a three bed corner room with 3 balconies. it was at most a ten minute journey ride into town, and with trams every 4 mins you were never waiting long, the free wi-fi and controlable heating was an added bonus to us.

A great few days in DublinPosted Aug 25, 2009
I booked the Herberton Apartments and Leisure Centre for our trip to Dublin and took along my niece and nephew. The staff were extremely helpful during the whole of our stay. The apartment was huge so plenty of room for the little ones to run around. Some parts of the apartment were a little bit tatty but I think this is due to the lack of respect from previous guests. All in all it was clean, spacious and a hop skip and a jump from the tram which took a few minutes to get into the centre. The Leisure Centre was fantastic and the kids loved it, just bear in mind that you have to wear a swimming cap in the pool which was highly amusing!! There is nothing much around the apartment so you do need to go into the centre of Dublin for food and entertainment etc. The area looks a little bit scruffy on first impressions, however the people we met locally were extremely pleasant, helpful and very welcoming. I would recommend this apartment for families and groups of friends if you are happy to travel a few minutes into the centre.

Difficult to find but great place to stayPosted Jul 28, 2009 on Hotels.com
The hotel is great. It is very clean and comfortable. However we had great difficulty finding it as the turn into the street looks like a turn into an entry. It was even worse trying to find it at night. However now we know where it is we would definitely go back.
