“Hilton Kilmainham, Dublin”
We got a half price deluxe double room and it was lovely ! A perfect way to end our break. It was outside the town centre but on a bit of a noisy corner. We had a balcony room with a view over a park. The breakfast buffet was lukewarm but good choice and the reception staff were very welcoming. We wish that we'd had two nights there instead of just the one !!!
“If you don't mind walking, hotel is great!”
The hotel was in really nice condition and looked very similar to the pictures online. The location is close to kilmanham goal but other then that you can expect to walk or get a taxi. We walked almost everywhere and didn't mind the hotel's location at all. However, if you do a tour bus that stops at kilmanham goal you can get on right across the street and it will take you to all the popular tourist stops.
“Would stay again”
Ideally located as I was visiting family in the area but also close enough to the city centre, buses and taxis in abundance at all times. The hotel is new so we had a very comfortable stay and the staff were lovely and very helpful
“Wonderful Hotel Staff & Service!”
The service was excellent. We were a little worried since we are a minority couple, but the staff was excellent especially the front desk. We had some issues printing out tickets for the show, "Dirty Dancing" we purchased online, but the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. So very pleased and we would recommend any of our friends to stay at the Hilton Kilmainham, Dublin. Great service and good food.
“Excellent hotel, will stay there again!”
We had an excellent experience with this hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 8:30 am after an overnight flight from New York. Knowing that there was still hours away from check-in time, we just wanted to put down our luggage first. But the staff said our room was ready and checked us in right away! After a nice breakfast buffet at the restaurant, we even got to have a nap before went out to the Kilmainham Jail museum just across from the hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The exercise room is among the best we had experienced. The restaurant offers good dinner menu. The hotel location may not be at the city center, but there is a bus stop 2 minutes walk away and 10-15 minutes bus time you are at the heart of downtown and closed to the major attractions. If you stay in the hotel with the same amenities at the city center, it will cost a lot more. Overall, we have a great time. Definitely recommend to everyone.
“Great Vacation!”
The room was modern and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The pool is a must if you stay here. One of the front desk clerks recommended we use Brian a taxi driver. He was very knowledgeable of Dublin and friendly.
“Excellent staff”
Hotel staff were fantastic, very polite, very helpful can't be praised enough. First room we got had a bit of noise but very quickly and easily got remedied by the staff. Room service rates and speed also very good, transport links to city centre very easy
“Hilton Kilmainham”
Very quiet and in perfectlocation to visit the KilmainhamGaol and Museum of Modern Art.
“Comfortable hotel at affordable prices”
Very pleasant stay with polite staff and clean and comfortable rooms. However proximity to attractions other than Kilmainham Gaol and museum of modern art was far and needed to take cabs everywhere. Air conditioning was not the coldest and found the room warm but all other facilities were A+ Would stay again
“Great hotel let down by poor food”
The location is a little outside of central Dublin's main tourist attractions, other than Kilmainham gaol, which is across the road (although it is on the open top tour bus route). There is nowhere within the immediate vicinity to go for a drink or eat and that places a lot of responsibility on the bar and restaurant within the Hilton hotel. This is the one area where the hotel is let down badly. Cinnamon, the restaurant lacks atmosphere, the food is bland and uninspiring and does not represent value for money. The bar food is just about okay, although on the one occasion we ordered lunch (liver and bacon on spring mash) and what we got was so lacking in taste we suspect it was actually roasted beef, not liver. Note how I said 'suspect' - nowhere else, ever, have I not been able to distinguish between liver and beef, but other than jumping in the car or a taxi we were a captive audience. That said, the hotel is maintained in perfect condition. There is a secure underground car park with direct access into the hotel. We were on the 1st floor and the room was spotlessly clean, perfectly maintained and comfortable. We had a great view out across into a park from the panoramic window. The bed was a comfortable kingsize and there was a comfy armchair. My only gripe with the room would be the lack of wi-fi. There was complimentary wired broadband in the room, but to get the (free) wi-fi, you had to go into reception.
