Good locale but otherwise only okayPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: The breakfast and the bathroom.
Cons: The lounge was bleak looking and the rooms were small, dark and dreary.
Location: On Parnell Square, close to O'Connell St.. Close to Gate Theatre, the Art Gallery and Writers' Museum.
This hotel is well situated close to O'Connell Street but was a little rough around the edges. The room was small and rather dreary but the bathroom was large and bright. The young front desk staff were moderately helpful but not overly interested. There was a very noisy group of males staying there who were usually drinking on the sidewalk or street whenever we came home and generally being boorish. The breakfast rooms in the basement were decent and the food and service for breakfast was really quite good. My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights and were glad to leave. We did not find it good value for the money we spent.

Central LocationPosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Atmosphere. Staff
Cons: Bit of refurbishment here ad there
Location: Located well. Able to get to central areas of Dublin around the Liffey 25-30 mins walk or 5 to 10 mins taxi.
Homely but worn hotel. Not at all unpleasant. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Being able to park in the secure carpark to the rear of the hotel was appreciated.

Nice comfy hotelPosted May 24, 2014
The Hotel St. George has nothing extraordinary about it but it's location. It is one block away from the most transited area in Dublin, and not far away from Temple Bar. Don't get surprised by the distance when seeing maps, Dublin is not that big and this hotel is very well located. If you want to be in the middle of everything then get a hotel in Temple Bar, but be wary of the parties and commotions. If you prefer more value, then get this hotel.

Spacious room, great locationPosted May 2, 2014
Located 5 minute walk from Upper O'Connell St this hotel is in a great location. We caught the airport shuttle bus in and it was a block and a half walk from the bus stop. Room was clean and very spacious compared to others experienced on this holiday. Breakfast was enjoyable in the restaurant. We found a great little pub (Aurora) about 10 min walk away in Upper Dorset St, which was away from the touristy area in O'Connell St and had nice meals at the right price.

Great Location, walking distance to the pubsPosted Jan 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our 2 day stay at Hotel St. George. The staff were very helpful and obliging, it was a fantastic location, with walking distance to the pubs and restaurants and hop on hop off bus.The breakfast was very appetising and filling. We would recommend Hotel St. George to other customers wanting a close hotel in Dublin to stay.
