“Quality but Distance”
This hotel was great if you don't mind a long transportation time everyday. ~10 minutes walk from the tram line, you can expect the tram to take ~40 minutes to get into downtown Dublin. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is set alongside a busy highway, so don't expect great views. It was still fairly quiet however.
“A lovely place to stay & the staff were fantastic”
The rooms were big & clean with a lovely bathroom. The floor to ceiling windows lead to a large balcony. The swimming pool was small but big enough for most & also had a steam room & sauna. The one & only complaint was the very busy road infront of the hotel. So when booking, ask for a room around the side or back of the hotel.
“It was just OKAY”
Overall the hotel was beautiful and the people were nice. The only issues we had were slow service with things like extra pillows and towels. We also had requested a cot at check-in and had not received it by late that evening. The hotel is a fairly nice hotel but, if you are staying in Tallaght don't expet the small country living style. When speaking to outside locals of Ireland, Tallaght was considered a "rougher" area.
“Nice hotel, but charges for internet stations”
Close to the Luas train line and a large shopping centre, the hotel is very nice to look at. Desk help answered questions but wasn't overly helpful and without the usual "good mornings," "good afternoon." She was from a foreign country, so maybe the tradition wasn't there. The business centre off the lobby was occupied as an office. I was pointed to a couple of computers on the mezzanine. These were pay-as-you go--pay a LOT as you go. Granted, there was wireless in the rooms but I didn't have a working laptop. Got the cheap room but that was without the "free" breakfast. Very nice room, with a balcony. The traffic noises, sirens, etc., was high. Road workers started around 9 am with electric saws. All-in-all, a very nice place that could improve in a few aspects but I'd happily stay there again.
“Lovely experiance”
It was a very nice, modern hotel with everything accessable. Safe at night. Had a nice breakfast buffet. Near by there were not very many shops however there was a Marks and Spencers nearby and a pizza place open late. The Luas(sp?) was very close and takes you right to downtown Dublin. Just be sure you know what time the last train is because its about a 35-45 minute ride to downtown. The comfort of the rooms were excellent and we were able to leave our shopping and backpacks out without worrying about anything going missing. The staff were very pleasant. The overall stay was very much enjoyable and I personally would recommend this hotel :)
“Great hotel!!”
Stayed at the Maldron for my husband's 60th birthday with friends and family. The hotel was in a great position for Dublin airport and city centre. We had breakfast which was very good and we also had bar snacks which were very tasty. The service was a bit hit and miss but everyone tried really hard. Just needs a bit more organisation and it would be wonderful. Staff were very helpful. We went into Dublin on the LUAS which we caught just over the road. It cost just over 4 euros for a return trip which took around 25-30 minutes and great value for money (get your ticket before you board). There were plenty of food outlets over the road or you could eat in the hotel. The prices at the hotel were very comparable to eating out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return soon.
“Good value”
Hotel was good value at the price we paid, it was however some distance from central Dublin, about 45 minutes on the tramline and the local area was lacking in reataurants etc.
“very good value for the money”
The hotel was clean, updated and modern. A very good value for the money considering everything else in Ireland was a total ripoff. My only complaint was that breakfast was not included and very expensive.
“Very pleased with choice”
Very comfortable room, lovely pool. A little further out of city centre than I thought but this wasn't a problem. Would stay here again.
“Fairly good, clean and friendly subaru hotel in Dublin”
We got this great package deal with airfare+hotel. It's about 30km from downtown Dublin. Unless you want to drive or take rail train (40-50mins) ride one way. The terminis and shopping mall is about 5 mins walk across the street from hotel. It's good and convinence. Overall, is a clean, friendly hotel with high ceiling reception and breakfast cafe'. The only draw back is, they won't have a formal dining restaurant. All in one area, the cafe' and the bar at the evening. Overall, I would say 3 to 4 out of 5 stars.
