Worth a visit but change the decorPosted Jun 28, 2013
Pros: room, bathrooms, service, food
Cons: decor and furnishings
Location: Near Howth (3 km) and Malahide (10 km) which are loively places
I stayed two nights and requested a single room. I was given a large room with a king size bed and a single bed...lovely bathroom, clean, but ancient TV with poor reception. Staff were great, one of them, short fellow behind the desk was a multitask genie, taking payment from one customer while giving the keys to another and giving me a bathing cap while he spoke to another customer on the phone. Another, a french waiter in the restaurant took unused wine from the tables of customers that left and offered it to customers still eating...nice touch ! I ate in the restuarant one night and the food was imaginative and very good, and not expensive. The pool was nice, a decent size and I spent an hour there every evening. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the decor, busy carpets, old fashioned settees, awful wallpaper, chintzy velvet curtains....sure my granny would love it, but a makeover would make this a 5*. I had a great time, thanks.....

Relaxing Oceanfront PropertyPosted Jun 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Oceanview pub with great food and service. 5 minute walk to the DART for service to downtown Dublin. Property is a little dated and service can be spotty but very friendly.

Very enjoyablePosted Jun 15, 2013
Pros: Quiet area. Good view of the Irish sea. Clean rooms. Cheerful staff.
Cons: Wi-fi reception in our room was very poor if at all. Had to go to the lobby to use i-pad.
Location: Going one direction, we were only about 10 minutes from Howth Harbor, with lots of quaint shops and restaurants. Howth Summit is an enjoyable hike.
Of the eight places we stayed, this was our second favorite, but a very close second. We had a wonderful view of the Irish Sea from a very nice accomodation and the staff were pleasant and helpful Our room on the second floor (third floor for Americans) would not be accessible by a disabled person, but there were plenty of rooms that would be accessible.

A real hotel with a view of the harbor.Posted Jun 7, 2013
A real hotel, with a view of the harbor. We didn't have access to an ice machine ( maybe thats an American thing) but the Bartender gave us a bucket of ice so we were able to chill a bottle of wine. Waking up and looking out over the marsh was a pleasure.

No wifiPosted Mar 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Don't expect the wifi to work, even though they say they have it. Bed is like a rock. Bathroom is at least nice. If you plan to spend most of your time in the city center, this hotel is not a great choice. There is a bus stop right outside but it still takes 30+ min. Also, if you have an early morning flight, you are paying around 25€ for a cab because bus/train doesn't leave until about 10am and will take over an hour.
