“Great budget friendly hotel”

The Mespil is very clean and comfortable. Although it's a bit of a walk into the city center (about 15-20 minutes), the walk itself is very pleasant. There are restaurants and pubs in the immediate neighborhood where you can get a bite to eat or a pint. I had read good reviews about The Mespil and therefore chose the hotel as part of a package that we got through Expedia. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone.

“Great Hotel for a Dublin stay”

We were very pleased with the hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with all the tigs we could ask for - complimentary tea/coffee, decent hairdryer, spare pillows and blankets etc. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and a real credit to the hotel trade. They were very knowledgable and provided much helpful advice. There was a public pc and printer connected to internet that enabled us to print boarding cards, Hotel location is convenient - about a 15 minute walk from the city centre and very convenient if you are interested in galleries/museums. The air coach drops you about 5 minutes away. There are supermarkets, cafes, fast food outlets and a restaurant or two within about 5 minutes walk. We had breakfast at a bagel shop which opened from around 7.30 and was good value. All in all - excellent and would definitely go back.

“Great room - bargain rate”

This hotel has a great location across from the canal and a small walking park with access to tourist barges. Also within a 5 minute walk lots of small shops, restaurants, market, etc. Staff was exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. There was a problem with our reservation (not the hotel's fault) that was immediately rectified and were were upgraded for the "inconvenience" (less than 10 min.). The location is a short/inexpensive taxi ride (lined up right outside the entrance) to central Dublin and away from the downtown noise. The facilities were excellent; clean and modern. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel and sumptuous "continental" breakfasts from room service. My only complaint was that it was exceptionally hot during our stay and the windows only open a few inches. Fans are an extra charge but we slept with the windows open and it was not very noisy outside. I would definitely stay here again.

“Comfortable stay”

Especially with jet lag after an eight hour flight, we really appreciated being able to kick back in a comfortable atmosphere. the staff was quite helpful and the hotel is within walking distance of the city center.

The Mespil had comfortable beds, an elevator, friendly employees, and a good shower. Can't ask for much more! This hotel was about 15-20 minutes leisurely walk to the City Center. Also, around the corner was a convenient street with restaurants, bars and shops. I would stay here again.

“Friendly, comfortable neighborhood hotel.”

The Mespil Hotel is located in a neighborhood area 10-15 minutes casual walk from St. Stephen's Green. This is probably not the best place to stay if you plan on spending a lot of time in the Temple Bar area because that is about a 20-25 minute walk. The rooms are of comfortable size with a double bed, a desk and a side chair. The bathrooms are large and clean with a stand up shower. The odd thing about the shower is that the water is delivered in alternating flows of hot and cold water. The hotel staff are great and they have a full service restaurant and bar in the building.

“Nice Hotel Close to St. Stephen's Green”

The Mespil was nicely located in a thriving area about 10-15 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green and Trinity College Dublin. The night life around the hotel was enjoyable with numerous pubs and clubs in close proximity. The room was quite nice and the staff was professional and helpful. I will stay there again.
