“Great Stay at the Davenport”
I cannot say enough about the O'Callaghan's Davenport Hotel! There were three of us, inclusing my 80 year old mother. We had a double bed and one single in the room. The beds were nice and comfortable, the bathroom was wonderful--great water pressure and fluffy towels. The location of this hotel--right off Merrion Square is central to everything. I would not recommend the hotel breakfast--at 11.50euros, it's not worth it. But I'm definitely going to return. Wonderful trip!! BTW, I recommend the hop on/hop off tour busses. A great way to see the city and easier on the feet!
“Recommend if you want to be close to shops and sights”
hotel is one block to Hop-on/Hop-off stops and short walk to St Stephens Greens and central London shops. Very clean hotel and tasty meals in bar area lounge. Lounge service extremely good. Safe area for night journey to central London shops and restaurants. If you want to be close to what is happening but not in the middle of the noise and crowds this is a great place to stay. Reasonable rates and oftne have specials.
“Just what you need in Dublin!”
I'm definitely coming back to this hotel. It's location couldn't be better if you want to experience Dublin and that's just the beginning. It was clean beyond my expectations! And although hallways and the elevators are not very spacious, it is extremely charming and cozy. I defintely recommend it!
“Would go back in a heartbeat!”
The hotel was perfectly placed near the Trinity College and many pubs we ended up at (O'Neills especially) and the best food ("Blarney Inn"). One night we decided to stay in and drink...avery request room service brought up. The only issue we had wasn't actually us but the friends we were traveling with. They had asked the desk to reserve them tickets for a play and between shift change, the request got lost and they never got their tickets. Overall, however, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Dublin!
“Mexicanos Touring Ireland”
Beautiful hotel, located near Trinity College and some shops. Pubs are within 15 minutes of walking, taxi's pass by frequently. One of the best hotels ever stayed in the world, great price.
“Dublin at its best!”
We absolutely loved our stay at the Davenport Hotel, and it really made our first trip to Dublin the best it could be. The hotel location is perfect! We could walk everywhere we wanted to go, and yet it was a quiet neighborhood when we were ready to sleep. The staff was so helpful with suggestions and seemed to do whatever they could to ensure that our stay was a satisfactory one. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. We would never think of staying anywhere else, and if we should return to Dublin, checking into the Davenport will be like coming home.
“Nice place to stay in Dublin”
Nice hotel, friendly people, great area. It is also very close to popular tourist locations. The pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area are nice as well.
“top notch”
This was one of the two best hotel stays I've had in Europe. The hotel was well appointed. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Very fresh and modern in the shell of a refurbished older building. Easy walk to Temple Bar and main areas of activity
“Great location.”
If you're in Dublin for a visit, this hotel is very well located near Georgian Dublin, Book of Kells, Liffe River, Temple Bar, Hop on Hop off buses and everything else.
“Amazing Hotel”
On a visit to dublin for my 21st Birthday, I stayed at the Davenport Hotel for two nights. The reception area was loverly and the staff were extremely helpful, giving us ideas of where to go. The room was really nice and very spacious - the kind of thing you see in a brochure but never expect to get! The breakfast (not inc.) was 13.5 euros, which is a bargain as you can have as much as you want (no need for lunch). The reception desk also looked after our bags from check-out (12 noon) which was really helpful. (When i told some friends in Dublin they were very impressed- indicating that this hotel has a very good name). I would thoughly recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend away and intend to visit again if i am ever in Dublin.
