“Nice rooms above a classic Dublin pub”

Enter the guest rooms to the left of the pub on Pearse. You will have to ring the bell and wait for someone to come down. The rooms belie the exterior- spacious and updated with nice decor. Breakfast is not included, but it is a good deal for 10 Euros. If you want to get away from all the tourists in the city center, the pub below is a good option. You will find mostly locals in here, good ol' craic. The only downside is the price. Especially with the exchange rate I thought it was a bit high.

“to many stairs”

The location of this hotel is fairly convenient to everything in the main area of Dublin. We found the people who operated the hotel to be very pleasant. The room we had was well kept and fresh. The bathroom was like new. My one complaint about this hotel is the stairs. I have a bad back which was aggravated by having to lug three large suitcases up three flights of stairs. The staff offered no assistance. Because of this I would never stay there again. For more robust people this might not be a problem in which case they would probably enjoy their stay. The breakfast was fresh and typical. Overall value of hotel was fair.

“Charming, but definitely a guest house”

We were looking for pub charm, and we got it: O'Neills pub is fantastic. Above it is the guest house--no elevator, creaky beds, right next to a busy and sometimes loud street, no A/C. If you don't mind these things, it was nice. But if you're looking for a relaxing place to stay, this isn't it. It did have the best shower we had in England or Ireland, though!
