“Noisy”
The hotel itself is quiet at night but the noise in the area will keep a light sleeper awake. We heard trash trucks and partiers through the early morning hours. This is really close to the center of Temple Bar though so if you are looking to be close to it all I recommend this hotel.
“great location, but the location is loud”
The Paramount Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be in Temple Bar in Dublin. The staff is friendly and the rooms are big enough and cozy. One note - the Temple Bar area is loud, period. Remember that when booking. If you don't want to hear the people and the bars on the street until 2am, don't stay here. If you want to enjoy the pub atmosphere, then it's a perfect location!
“Right by the excitement”
Right next to the Temple Bar area. Walking distance to other sights, such as the Guinness Storehouse, Old Jameson Distillery, Dublin Castle, etc. Bars and clubs in the area are open late, so if you want to go to bed early, the noise might keep you up.
“Great hotel - great location!”
The hotel room was clean and well appointed. The room was small for two people to share. The location was great - I had read about the nighttime noise in the area due to the partying and bars....yet it was quiet for us. I was there for 3 nights, and only 1 night was noisy, but it didn't keep us from sleeping. I would stay there again.
“Temple Bar Area Treasure”
Charming old hotel (renovated!) located in old town Dublin in Temple Bar area. Very comfortable room with many modern amenities provided, and elevators. Very friendly and helpful desk staff. Walking distance to the amazing sites in Dublin South, and close to Ha'penny bridge and the river Liffey. Building includes Turk's Head Bar; if you're an early-to-bed person, request rooms away from the side with the bar. It was a wonderful place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay to explore Dublin.
“Great hotel in Temple Bar”
This hotel was much better than I expected: large rooms, comfy beds, a very expansive bathroom. Almost everything was great about the hotel -- the only problem was late night noise. Our room was on the first floor (2nd floor as European hotels go). Right outside our window was a late night club. If you are going to drink and party then this is a great hotel, if you are sightseeing during the day and want a good nights sleep, then you may want to stay out of the Temple Bar area altogether.
“Great Neighborhood”
The hotel was clean. The beds were not the best, but not as bad as some have written. The location was great. You can walk everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.
“Quiet in the Temple Bar area”
Very, very good hotel for its price. Clean, quiet and centrally located.
“Comfortable, and a very good value”
This is a fine hotel. I stayed here last year as well and enjoyed both visits. The hotel is well-appointed and very clean, the staff is welcoming without being smothering, and the location is convenient.
“Great location, but very noisy”
If sleep is important to you, then it'd be best to avoid this hotel. We were first given a hotel facing the street -- there are lots of pub crawlers out at night so we requested a quieter room. We got a wonderful room on the top floor -- so we thought -- but we couldn't sleep again because of a loud seagull outside the window (not the hotel's fault!) and a strange vibration that shook the bed at night. (I live in NYC so I'm familiar with the usual vibrations caused by trucks and construction, but this was much stronger and disruptive.) Then we stayed in a room that reeked of cigarette smoke on the 2nd floor, and of course since there's a pub in the building on the first floor and no door dividing the 1st and 2nd floor, we heard music all night. Other than that, the location was a great place from which to explore the city on foot. The service was okay but not great. The room was very inexpensive, but if we go to Dublin again we'll probably stay in a less trafficked neighborhood.

Area:
Temple Bar - Dublin Castle, Dublin, Ireland: This small enclave by the river was developed into Dublins Cultural Quarter in the 1980s, and soon became the citys nightlife centre. Temple Bar is still devoted to eating, drinking, entertainment, and shopping. By day, its an arty alternative hangout; by night, groups of partying tourists make it a rowdier haunt. Near the famous Hapenny Bridge, Merchants Arch retains some of the areas atmosphere from a century or so ago.
