Excellent hotel about 10-15 minutes walk from LUAS

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Very clean. Hotel staff very prompt when we could not find a hairdryer.
Cons: The shower curtain, too short and not curved. The wifi was fine close to the desk, but in our room very slow and the signal very weak.
Location: The LUAS (tram) was within walking distance. Very easy to get around the city and the taxi was about 40 Euro to the airport.
Stayed May 11-17, 2015. First time travelling to Europe from the United States; travelled with girlfriend. This hotel seemed very focused on the business traveller as the service we received in the hotel bar was far more comparable to service from the US than the other restaurants and bars we visited during our trip. Bartenders would check in frequently to see if we needed anything else compared to other places where we would be checked in on once. Room was cleaned daily even on the days we didn't leave the room until late--on the 13th we didn't leave until around 2pm. Free wifi but not very reliable in the room we were in.

Great Hotel

Visited in April 2015 and used this as a base to explore Dublin. The tram stop is only 5 mins away and a day return cost €4,50

Extraordinary hospitality by the hotel staff

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: I loved the welcoming and helpful reception desk staff. I also liked the proximity to the Luas Red Line that heads right into the Dublin City Centre.
We had our Expedia confirmation sheet printed for our two nights at Red Cow Moran Hotel on the west side of Dublin. We planned to spend the entire day in Dublin sightseeing before heading to the hotel because we were guaranteed by Expedia a late arrival at the hotel. When we arrived at 10:00 PM, after paying almost 30 Euros to take a taxi from the UCD campus, we learned that the hotel was not expecting us and that they were completely booked. If the staff were like the staff at many American hotels, they would have just dismissed us and sent us on our way to find another hotel. But this staff was extraordinary. They sent us to the bar to have a drink on them while they looked for a room for us at another hotel. When they found one, they paid for the taxi ride to the hotel. The other hotel was about 10 minutes away, but they treated us well and actually gave us a suite since we had such a difficult evening. The manager of the hotel also gave us vouchers for free breakfast in the morning. After breakfast, a taxi came to pick us up and take us back to the Red Cow Moran. The driver was a really nice man named Graham. When we arrived at the desk, we were warmly greeted by the woman who had been at the desk the night before. She told us that she had upgraded the room for that night and that she was also giving us a free breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed our stay at the Red Cow Moran and want to commend them for being the most gracious staff that we have ever experienced.

Great hotel but out of town.

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Staffing levels were good and exceptionally friendly, hard-working people. Nice ambience about the hotel, especially the grand staircase.
Cons: The service at evening meal in the restaurant. Painfully slow the first night.
Location: Didn't find anything to do nearby. Pub adjoining hotel but that was it. Hotel is on a very busy road junction with the tramlines too.
15 minute walk to the tram and then 30 mins into city centre but superb hotel and worth it. Great breakfasts but evening meals not so great. Well staffed with friendly, helpful and lovely people.

Huge rooms and close to Dublin

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Surprised how lovely this hotel was, I arrived at the back door entrance but was so pleasantly surprised with the beautiful foyer and very very helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel, away fr the hustle and bustle of town yet close enough to be there fast, using the tram system.

Hubby's birthday weekend

Posted Apr 1, 2015
When we arrived i had booked a double room which they upgraded to a suite. On the Friday night we decided to stay in our room & ordered room service which was delivered very quickly, absolutely delicious & very good value. On the Sunday night the restaurant is not open, altho the bar & red cow inn are, however the girl on reception was happy to recommend nearby restaurants covering various cuisines. On the morning of check out they were more than happy to check us onto our flights & print our boarding cards. All in all a great service.
