“Can't wait to come back!”
We couldn't have asked for a better hotel for a better price. The room itself was spacious and very well maintained. The hotel staff was even better. From the workers at the reception desk to the waitresses in the dining room, we were welcomed and treated with the utmost respect. Anything we needed, whether it be directions or recommendations for dinner, they were able to help. The hotel is in an excellent area with many things to do and restaurants and shops nearby (not that you will need to go to any other restaurant....the food in the hotel restaurant is EXCELLENT!!) At the Arlington, you will be in walking distance to Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Guiness Warehouse, and so forth. If you're heading to Dublin, stay at this hotel!! Well worth the price.
“A little run down...”
Great location and staff however it could use a face lift - especially the bathrooms.
“Older hotel, great location!”
The hotel is in the perfect location to walk everywhere you'd want to go in Dublin. There are great restaurants and pubs within a 5 minute walk, the Storehouse and Trinity College are about a 10-15 minute walk, and you're IN Temple Bar! The hotel is older though and could use some new carpet, but for the price and location it's definately worth staying here!
“Very good hotel.”
Very good location. Great front desk people. Big room
“Not Impressed”
over priced for the quality. Rooms were extremely small. No air conditioning. Only one of the two windows opened, and at night it was noisy due to a cocktail lounge below our windows
“Wonderful location.”
The location is fabulous - close to all the sights. The food in the restaurant was really good. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were great and eager to help. Don't miss the live show that plays nightly.
“Personality and Character at the Arlington”
This is a lovely little hotel in the heart of everything. Bathrooms are a wee bit small - actually, they're tiny; and the walls between the units are a little thin. However, we would - yes, absolutely - stay there again! The entire staff is just wonderful ... always smiling, always accommodating ... eager to be of service. The food in the restaurant was almost just like home (Texas) - we especially love their Irish Breakfast. The daily entertainment in the bar/restaurant is top notch. The Hop On Hop Off stand is right across the street, along with the Dublin Castle. It's easy walking to the Temple Bar area of Dublin; and it's just down the street from Trinity College. If you like a hotel with lots of personality and charm ... and you can overlook the creeky floors, tiny bathroom space and a little noise ... you'll love this Arlington Hotel.
“Would stay again”
Few Negative Things: I stayed in a single room, and it was pretty small... the garbage had to go under the teeny desk because it didn't fit anywhere else. The walls were also paper thin and you could hear everything going on in the rooms around you or anyone walking down the hall. The only other downside was that one morning, housekeeping came around 8:30 AM and woke me up, as I am definitely not an early riser. If you wanted to sleep in a bit, I'd put the "Do Not Disturb" sign up. But that being said, the location is great, the desk staff was extremely helpful, the room was definitely clean, and the free WiFi in the lobby was very helpful for me to just send quick emails to home from my phone. I would stay again or tell others that for the price, Arlington hotel was kind of unbeatable. I ended up only sitting at the bar late one night, but I know they had great live music and wish I had experienced more of it. The hotel was so convenient, I even would go wandering around in the morning and be able to stop at the hotel in the early afternoon to drop stuff off or take a little break, then head out again. It is so centrally located to almost all sights in the area. I was staying alone, and felt completely safe and happy with everything in the Arlington. I'd stay again.
“Advanced Planning Tips for This Hotel”
I WOULD stay at the Arlington Hotel Temple Bar again, but only if I could be on the top floor, on the street side of the hotel. We were on the 2nd floor, and--because it is an older hotel--were directly underneath a squeaky spot (which the above tenant hit regularly with unerring accuracy at all hours of the day or night!). We were also on the back-side of the hotel--right next to a building rented to students. Loud music all night on the weekends -- to 6 a.m. one night. Even when they were quiet, you got a lot of sound from the templebar area clubs. Room clean, bed comfortable (except for the pillows, which were like foam bricks). Staff was very nice. Food was so-so, but lots of great restaurants in the area. Floor show good. Location was awesome. Lobby internet access was VERY frustrating, but there is a shop just down the street with high speed, up-to-date computers (MUCH cheaper than lobby). The cleaners had this weird routine of dumping bags of clean towels up and down the hallways, which really made the place look shabby for most of the day. I was a little embarassed to have anyone visit because of that. (Looked like a NYC side street during a garbage strike). And that's the brutal, honest truth! All in all: I would visit Dublin again in a second, and stay at the Arlington Templebar with different expectations and a top floor, street-side room!
“Great location and staff”
Could not ask for a better more attentive staff. From the restaurant to the bar and the front desk anything they could do to make the stay enjoyable they were eager to do. The only complaint was that the shower did not work in our room they offered a new room but the tub was large and we just worked around it. Noise was not a problem we were there over the weekend as well as most of the week.
