Not Great

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: nothing, location was good, nothing else.
Cons: Everything, it needs to be freshened up, new paint and new carpets and better cleaning of the rooms.
Location: Dublin is a great city, lots to do and see and tons of history. The location and difficult access with car to this hotel made it not worth it.
Room was not very clean, carpets were worn and dirty. There was no elevator so you had to climb 4-5 flights of stairs. There was no parking near the hotel. Parking was far away and you had to drag your luggage from the car park (which cost 18 euro) to the hotel. I would not stay here again, I consider myself not difficult to please but this hotel was worn out and hard to get to and noisy at night.

Stylish hotel in the centre. We would stay here ag

Pros: Staff and very stylish Junior Suite and awesome restuarant.
Cons: Noise from the bar and street until 3am. The room had waterstained ceiling decoration, tired carpet and waterstained chair upholstery - more TLC req
Location: In the city centre, fantastic location. Everything nearby.
Great hotel location. Very stylish. Excellent restuarant, spa and Sams bar. Restuarant and spa - 10% discount to residents. Bit noisy from the bar into the early hours but that didnt bother us. We had a great tiem and enjoyed our saty at the hotel.

Centrally placed with extremely helpful staff

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: The central location is a plus and the breakfasts are large (setting you up for a day of exploring the local area). The staff are extremely helpful.
Location: Central location so within easy walking distance of shops, art galleries, museums and St Stephen's Green. (Dublin is very compact.)
In the centre of Dublin and near an Aircoach stop (for travek to/from the airport). The staff are extremely helpful and professional. My room was excellent with a very powerful shower (and with a bath). I only took breakfast but I can vouch that the portions are large and the breakfast fruit platter was beautifully presented. There are lifts but I chose not to use them. The place is a bit of a rabbit warren - depending obviously on where your room is. (Mine was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet.) I was a single traveller and felt safe and secure and within easy access of the delights of Dublin.

stay in dublin

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Hotel is situated just off the busy streets therefore easy to get to everything but quiet at night. air conditioning in the hotel was good the bed was hard and good although you didn't get that "fluffy" feeling from the bed which I've experienced in other 4 star hotels The room was clean but felt a little worn. The bathroom was also clean although the fan, air vent outlets could have done with a good clean plus the shower was in the bath and it didn't take long before I was standing in 10/15cm of water as the water didn't drain away quick enough. The receptionist advised us the a buffet and la a carte breakfast was available but only a la a carte was available. (We hadn't included breakfast in the price)

I highly recommend the Dawson Hotel. The staff is beyond helpful and accommodating. The location is convenient because you are walking distance from anywhere in Dublin (Trinity College is the closest) and you're surrounded by quiet restaurants, pubs, and shops. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was huge!

Excellent service, shame about the noise.

The suite was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The main drawback for me was the lack of an accessible lift as I was travelling with an older person. The location while central and very close to Grafton Street was extremely noisy at night, with loud taxi horns blasting until 3.00 a.m. and this was a Wednesday night. The Dawson staff however were very sympathetic and gave us a reduction in our bill due to our inability to sleep on the second night.

Convenient central hotel with very helpful staff

Good start with my queries re transport from the airport and early check-in answered promptly. Made welcome and given access to room at 11am. Location very central and convenient. Room comfortable with all amenities but a bit tired. It looks like the floor is being done up from the other end. All in all a good stay

Great hotel, right in the middle of town

Posted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was a great hotel - staff were very polite and helpful, and the quality of the rooms and building was extremely high. The only thing that I would say to warn potential guests is that it is right in the middle of town, so inside the ridiculous Dublin one-way system, and parking can be very difficult (although the do have a deal with a nearby car-park which will work as long as you don't have a high-roofed van). The downstairs bar also turns into a late-night drinking location for a good 200-300 people so can be very noisy at the weekends!

Different hotel, great location!

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere and decor.
Cons: Parking is a couple of blocks away which if you had a couple bags caused some issues as the hotel is a main street.
Location: Great location near the main shopping area and close to a park which was nice to take a walk and enjoy the scene.
Our stay was nice, and the hotel almost have that "Titanic feel" to it which we enjoyed very much. The hotel had a vibrant atmosphere and the location was great as it is walking distance from the main shopping area.
