“Excellent Service and Location for Touring Dublin”
A friend and I stayed at The Fitzwilliam for five nights in February. We were both impressed by the service and consideration shown by all the hotel staff -- from desk reception to housekeeping. When the room we booked was not yet available upon check-in, we were offered complimentary coffees while we waited and, later, complimentary bottles of water were delivered to our room. The room was better than average size for Europe and quite comfortable, although we agreed our twin-bedded room could have had more comfortable mattresses (too hard for our liking). Big bathroom with lots of nice complimentary products. Lots of hot water but the rain-shower faucet was pretty aggressive, and there did not seem to be a way to adjust it. The hotel has two restaurants, including one with a Michelin star. We ate twice in the lower-priced restaurant, Citron, and found the food and service excellent. The hotel is very centrally located at the bottom of Grafton Street, at a corner of St. Stephen's Green, from which we were able to walk throughout the central city to museums, restaurants, Trinity College, pubs, and theaters. I ordinarily no to stay at five star properties, but the price on Expedia and having a roommate, permitted this very nice luxury for this trip. I would stay at The Fitzwilliam again, if traveling to Dublin another time.
