“Absolutely fine”

Room was great, large and very clean and comfy beds, not too noisy although beside a busy road. Pub below is fine although I gather the food is unremarkable ( did not eat here myself). Really handy for Trinity college. Just a rooom rather than a hotel but that was not a problem for me.

“Pleasant & comfortable stay”

Very spacious room, could have slept three with ease, despite only booking for one. Location is good, a short walk to Trinity College (5 min), St. Christopher's Green and Grafton Street (10 mins each). Pearse Street station less than 1 minute walk away providing good connections further afield. Whist the noise from the traffic outside is quite apparent, this quietens down by 10pm so not a huge problem. Very little noise from the pub upon which the hotel sits, and staff friendly and interested in ensuring a pleasant stay. Lovely original features in the room included fireplace, high ceilings, oak flooring and sash windows. Good powerful shower. Wi-fi worked fine, as did all other appliances, heating effective once I'd worked out how to turn it on!

“All good, but one big problem for us!”

This room was clean, tidy and convenient BUT there was no hot water on each of the three mornings we were there. I told the staff member on the first day - she said it was being fixed. It was not, and I told a different person the next day, he said it was working but again the next morning it was not. We did have hot water in the afternoons, so it did actualy work, just not 24 hrs a day! Given that they had asked for payment in advance, and there never seemed to be a 'manager' present, only the bar staff from the attached pub, it was not easy to make an effective complaint or not pay the full bill. Otherwise it would be an ideal, practical, clean and tidy base for exploring this friendly and attractive city.

“Horrible”

There was no "free Irish breakfast" as we paid for and had printed on our reservation. When we asked the staff about this, he told us that "they never, ever did that". The room was right above the pub, which was fine Thursday night, but when the "pub" turned into a night/dance club Friday and Saturday nights, it was impossible to sleep. There was no sound barrier and could hear everything from the blaring music to drunk yelling. The only way I would recommend this place was to a young person who planned on partying every night, or someone who does not need to be asleep before 3 am.
