“This was an outstanding value. If I returned to Dublin, this would be my choice of hotels.”

This is an old resort hotel but revovated, enlarged, and modernized. The staff were very accommodating. They offer a full "English" buffet breakfast as part of the price which is very reasonable. There is a picturesque old bar room, and there'a a "C-store" w/ alcoholic offerings and a pub nearby. A supermarket and Domino's Pizza within walking distance, as is a bus line into downtown Dublin. I would advise against renting a car, no matter how cheap, as a minimum of E27/day insurance is mandatory. If your destination is Dublin, take a taxi from the airport and ride buses (parking downtown is more than E10/day. Buy a bus pass or tour bus 24-hour pass, as they go everywhere you'd want to go, including all museums.For a downtown pub, we recommend the large pub w/ food and entertainment at the Arlington Hotel, which is a regular bus stop for all buses. Don't miss the mime of James Joyce adjacent to the JJ statue just off the main drag. Also visit the famous "Brazen Head Pub," the oldest in DUB (1198), and inscribe a dollar that will be stapled to the walls/ceiling. Start with the 24-hour hop on-hop off bus tour to gather ideas for subsequent touring. Visit the "Divino" coffeehouse just down from the Arlington for good value and quality.

“Excellent Lucan Spa”

We found Lucan Spa Hotel easily by car from Dublin airport. Driving in Dublin City you will find Parking expensive, but several buses run into Dublin from the area of the hotel fares are reasonable. The staff and service provided were excellent. The choice of food at Breakfast was excellent. Dinner in the bar was reasonably priced. The only negative we found was the internet connection was very slow and therefore expensive. We would definitely return to this Hotel

“Well pleased”

We were a party of three adults who stayed for 7 days. The hotel staff were extremely obliging and welcoming and the accommodation was very good. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere and we would certainly use it again as a place to base ourselves for exploring the South and West of Ireland by car and for easy access to Dublin by public transport.

We stopped on a night that had a wedding- it was very noisy. But we decided the staff were so friendly and helpful, that we still enjoyed our stay. Staff went out for their way to offer help.

THIS HOTEL WAS OFF A MAIN ROAD BUT YOU COULD NOT HEAR ANY NOISE ONCE IN THERE. THE ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLE AND THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT AND THE BAR IS RELAXING.

“Too far out of Dublin, but very nice hotel”

I just wanted visitors to be aware that this is not a hotel I would book if you are planning to visit Dublin every day. The cab fare varied from 20 - 30 euros EACH way, this adds a huge amount to your holiday spending when you have to bear in mind Dublin is a very expensive, but lovely, city.

“Village life in Dublin”

The hotel is in "Greater Dublin" and so a trip of about half an hour into the City. It is near old Lucan Village, a charming place, not the usual Dublin suburb. Lots of locals come to the restaurant. The nearby pub has good entertainment.
