Unbelievable Stay - Words Can't Describe It!!!Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: Everything! I can't pick only a couple things because we enjoyed every single aspect that this hotel and its staff had to offer!
Cons: There is nothing that needs improvement. The hotel staff/concierge/wait staff provided everything beyond perfection! We would stay time and time again!
Location: Dublin is an amazing city! They have a ton of attractions throughout, but right across the street make sure you grab a pint at Riley's & O'Donahuges!
The experience we had here at The Merrion is like nothing we've ever experienced before! The staff, the room, the location, the cleanliness, the restaurants, the 24 hour bar "No. 23," the spa, room service, High Tea in the afternoon, the pool, the gym, the patio/courtyard... the list could go on and on - Everything was absolutely 150% exquisite! If you are looking to have an amazing experience while staying in Dublin, you need to stay at The Merrion hotel. It's also very centralized and we were able to walk everywhere - Dublin Caslte, Trinity College/the Book of Kells, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Jameson Distillery, Guinness Factory, Temple Bar and more! And even better, there are a number of great pubs within just a few steps from The Merrion's front door! The concierge at The Merrion are the gentlemen who stood out the most to us - they were beyond helpful with directions, assisting with tee-times, giving advice on where to go (if needed), having your car ready and outside waiting for you within a couple minutes... I could keep going on about this as well. They were the best gentlemen we could have come across and extremely welcoming too! The Merrion is more than a 5-star hotel, I don't think 5 stars even gives it justice with how amazing your entire experience will be if you stay here :-)! And lastly, make sure you have dinner at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. His restaurant is located inside The Merrion and this is a meal you will never forget, we highly recommend it!

Great hotel in a good locationPosted May 12, 2015
Pros: It's general bearing, it had everything a 5 star hotel should have.
Location: Good restuarants and cafes nearby so breakfast is easily sought, within walking distance of the national gallery.
Hotels can be disappointing some times, but the Merrion lived upto the reviews we had read. Very friendly helpful staff and a beautiful ambience within all the sitting room bar areas. Bedroom was very large and well appointed with a hugh bed, very comfortable. Would stay here in a flash, and would have lunch in the beautiful restaurant next door again.

the best of the best in DublinPosted May 5, 2015
Pros: Location was ideal, only a few minutes walk from local area shopping, theatre district, museums and Trinity. Their customer service is impeccable!
Cons: Allowing a bit earlier check-in would help foreigners taking early morning flights into Dublin, who need a place to relax and refresh.
Location: Grafton, Dames and St. Stephen's is very easy within walking distance. Trinity College, museums and lots of tiny flavor shops to get a cup of coffee.
Wonderful, brilliant, excellent! From start to finish, the Merrion offered us courtesy, attentiveness, uncomparable warmth and out of their way exceptional customer service. The Tetra spa was super accommodating and very good. The Merrion's high tea was well worth the $ and offered a one-of-a-kind experience. The room was lovely, warm and inviting. Their lobby doormen always greeted us, held the door and arranged for taxi's within a minute's time. The reception desk, no matter whom you encountered, made us feel like we had their undivided attention and would go the extra mile. Overall, the Merrion offers a European type of high caliber service to their patrons that is no commonly found in many hotels any more. One is treated like royalty from the moment of arrival to time of departure. The hotel is lovely, historically preserved, clean and all staff are out-of-their way friendly and approachable. 5 stars + is the highest caliber of recommendation the Merrion has earned and rightfully deserves.

A beautiful hotel, first class staff, great stay.Posted Apr 21, 2015
Cons: Only the view from our room as mentioned above.
Location: We did everything. The bus tour of the city (both), the visit to the Guinness brewery, St Stephen's Green, the Museum of Dublin, the Writer's Museum.
We were met be a lovely receptionist, shown to our room, which was wonderful in terms of furniture, fixtures and fittings. The only downside of the stay at all, which prevented giving 5 stars was the fact that the view from the window was a brick wall and a full skip; full of rubbish from Tesco which was situated behind the hotel. During the evening, with the window open, there was a lot of street noise and vagrants scrabbling about in the skip. I appreciate we were not in one of the luxury rooms, but nevertheless, it is worth mentioning. This of course, is beyond the hotel's powers. However, it did not spoil our stay. The spa was used each day and the facilities there were wonderful. The pool is excellent, the gym first rate and the steam room great, and there was a well equipped set of changing rooms with lovely soap, deodorant and body lotion, was a lovely touch, as well as the fruit water and fresh fruit available in the relaxation area outside. The staff could not have been better and the hotel is lovely. Highly recommended.

Great hotel close to Dublin's landmarks and pubsPosted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Location and the ambiance. The staff were wonderful. When we arrived back at the hotel at 2.30 am starving we had prompt room service dinner
Location: Sandyman's free walking tour .A day trip to Houwth, a walk through St Steven's Green.. Just walking everywhere
Two pubs of note within steps on the hotel Donahue's .... have a celi every Sunday beginning at 5pm and then there is Dhonny's. Sandyman's free walking tour is a great way to learn some history and get oriented to the city. The art work in the hotel , open log fires

Every detail of our stay at the Merrion was perfect. The staff could not be more hospitable, friendly or helpful. The facilities are elegant, comfortable and tastefully understated. The Merrion boasts an extraordinary collection of fine art that enriches the visitor's stay and is creatively woven into the not-to-be-missed high tea. The spa and its beautiful pool are an oasis of relaxation and pleasure. It is the ideal place to stay in Dublin and we plan to return often!
