“Christmas trip to beautiful Dublin to see friends”
I have stayed in the Pearse Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn) on many occasions in the past 4years whilst visiting friends. I lived in Dublin for previous 15years. The staff make the hotel, they are so friendly and obliging. At night I always ask for a jug of fresh milk to take to my room, milk is given to me with a smile! I am sure lots of places would suggest that I go to local shop and buy my own carton of milk!! On arrival on my most recent visit, I checked in alone, had booked room with double bed as my Sister was joining me a couple of days later, when I mentioned that my Sister would be coming to Dublin, reception staff immediately offered me a room with two beds, I was delighted cos room with 2 beds is so much bigger. I cannot think of a better location to stay whilst visiting Dublin - buses run down Pearse St. frequently, it is maybe a 15min walk down Pearse St. to bottom of Grafton St. Alternatively, I love to walk down the river Liffey, again maybe a 15min walk to o'Connell st. Pearse Hotel is within very ealsy walking distance to 02, Grand Canal Theatre, Abbey Theatre, Gate Theatre, Screen Cinema, Irish Film Centre, in fact the location is just superb!! A good pair of walking shoes is a must. No problem getting a taxi on Pearse St. and not very expensive to take a cab around the city. Forgot to say many museums around the Dublin2 area, Government Buildings close by too. In all very very good value. Not many Hotels offer Bed & Breakfast - Pearse Hotel does!!
