“Convenient to airport”
Seems like a grand, older hotel, which is somewhat on the decline. It was clean; staff was courteous, and I would stay there again if I needed one-night lodging near the airport. The price was very reasonable. It is about a 30 minute walk from downtown, but there is bus service available, and several restaurants are within a 10 minute walk.
“Average”
Just an average Hotel in a leafy suburb 3 miles North of Dublin. I found the room clean however it rained that night and woke up to the carpet all wet and leaking. There were water stains from the ceiling so asked for another room and they accommodated me. This hotel is an old hotel lots of doors banging maids cleaning you can hear conversations in the hallways.
“Definetly, not impressed..kind of rude treatment by front desk staff.”
After visiting 17 other european hotels in Spain and Portuga, this cold hotel and a kind of rude reception performed by a night clerk, made us feel very unconfortable! He separated our party of 2 couples by 2 floors and long distance from the elevators. But the hotel was practically empty!. The next morning the breakfast was handled bad as well. I will not step foot on it! It left a bat taste for my first experienec in Ireland!
“I'd have to think twice about returning”
If it wasn't for the pool, I probably wouldn't return. But, even there, the pool closed at 6 PM for children and 7 for adults? I had my 11 year-old grandson with me and luckily I asked before we took off sight-seeing in Dublin. Consequently, we HAD to swim when we arrived rather than after a long day of sightseeing! Very disappointing. The room itself was very bland and without any atmosphere. There was no shuttle from the airport to the hotel only a shuttle from the hotel to the airport?? Go figure? There was no breakfast included; not even a simple coffee and roll? We sat in the lobby for nearly a half hour before the shuttle arrived to take us to our flight home; no atmosphere or TV, or anything.
“St. Patrick's Day in Dublin”
Of the two elevators near the lobby, one was not operating for the majority of the time we stayed (5 of 7 days). Hair dryer in room was missing, took 2 days to get it replaced. Irish music advertized in the bar did not happen during the entire stay. Housekeepers were very good and almost invisible. They kept the roon very clean. Being on the bus route was helpful to get into town. Although a trip to or from town or the airport by cab was always less than 20 euros. Bus only 1.60 euro each way. The front desk clerks were helpful and knowledgeable, but often overwhelmed by check-in, check-out, information requests etc. Usually only one front desk clerk working even during peak time. Several first rate pubs within a short walk or bus ride. Grocery store not far away.
“Okay”
This hotel was fine for two college students looking for something cheap, but the cost of transportation (and we only took the bus into City Centre) was a little frustrating. The service at the hotel was wonderful, but I would not recommend exchanging money there. The breakfast was good (for a fee). We were under impressed by the room, there was no top sheet in the bed, and the window was broken and open the whole time. Don't get me wrong, we love it cold when we sleep at night, but having the window open meant the heat worked over time and it was hotter in our room than expected. It really wasn't terrible, just might pay more next time to be closer to City Centre and more comfortable sleeping.
“Regency OK For Bargain Hunters”
Regency Hotel in Drumcondra was adequate for our needs. Frequent buses are a half block away, whisking us to Centre City. Had great view of Wicklow Mountains; Irish breakfast was filling at 10 Euros. Luxury seekers won't find their search at Regency, but for travelers seeking bargain via Expedia; it worked. Recomend food at nearby Fagan's Pub; friendly staff, superior seafood.
“no outside food”
The Regency Hotel was amazing. It was a really nice hotel. The comfort level was great, if a little too ritzy for backpackers. The only complaint was that once in the room, we read that no outside food or alcohol was allowed in the room. For backpackers, this presented a problem because the lounge and nearby diner weren't cheap. Otherwise, this hotel is a great place. Good family place.
“Very Simple”
Hotel was simple and clean. Nothing flashy or great about it, but nothing bad either. A good "budget" hotel.
