Great hotel, close to everything

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Lovely bright hotel, with welcoming staff on reception. Public transport right on the doorstep and plenty of restaurant, bars and cafe within minutes walk. Food in the bar is great... Just left waiting a bit to be served and wasn't that busy. Will defiantly stay here again

Cold New Year's Eve

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Location. style
Cons: Infrastructure, heating, showers
Location: Dublin city is the main one
It was very unfortunate that we have spent our first night in absolute freezing conditions. We were wearing jackets and coats to lay on the bed as the heating system in our room was not working. Requests to fix it or change room were responded the day after. Luckily they have changed us to a different room. Breakfast, average for a cost of 15 Euros. As a building beautiful and in a very good location.

Stayed for several days at New Year

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Excellent food in Hardy's and nice to be able to sit in reception area for refreshments with friends.
Cons: Room was a bit cold when first entering. Sort out the basin noise, trap being pulled I our room.
Location: Excellent for access to Dun Laoghaire harbour, shopping, ferry and Dart.
Stayed for several days at new year and found no real problems except a slightly noisy lift, basin trap noisy and occasional noise from adjacent room.

First impressions

Posted Jan 4, 2015
Were given room on 7 th floor, very cold, felt like servants quarters and no shower cubicle, tiny 1/2 wardrobe, very disappointed but had to go out straight away. On returning at 9 pm I mentioned to reception and were given much nicer bigger room on second floor. Felt much better about that , absolutely no bother! Would come back but not to 7 th floor!

Royal Marine, Home away from Home

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly, good location,
Location: Middle of Dun Laoghaire
I've stayed at the Royal Marine on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience. I particularly like the "no problem is to big" attitude from the staff. They are always very accommodating to special requests. The ambience of the Bay feels more like a community centre with the comings and goings of people having coffee a meal or small business meetings. Clean rooms. Fantastic location.

Good location in centre of Dun Laoghaire

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Health club, size of room
Cons: Little bit of refurbishment
Location: Centre of Dun Laoghaire, handy for the dart.
Good value, lovely big room, though it could do with a little bit of redecoration. Large, comfortable bed, sofa, coffee table and balcony. Small fridge which is a nice touch. Shower and separate bath. A lot of noise one night due to people in the smoking area outside the bar, but apart from that was very quiet. Very warm feel to the hotel. Could do with a few more staff in lounge and bar areas. Health club is gorgeous - you need to bring a swimming cap and flip-flops though!

A truly WONDERFUL & HAPPY HOTEL

Posted Dec 2, 2014
The Royal Marine hotel most certainly lived up to it's well known reputation. The Spirit of the place touched us immediately. We were so warmly welcomed that we felt a at home straight away. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We enjoyed the luxury of our room being cleaned daily, especially the crisp clean sheets on our beds. For breakfast, we had so many choices: traditional Irish freshly cooked or continental with a generous selection of fresh fruit too. With unending pots of tea, coffee, herbal teas or whatever. As we had lots of friends visiting us, we chose to have our meals in the lounge. We recieved no pressure to hurry up. Consequently our friends stayed for hours, relaxing in ambiance of the place. We will treasure our memories for always.
