Clean hotel with great facilitiesPosted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Facilities, breakfast, clientele, bus service
Cons: Room service was average and over priced. Otherwise everything else was great.
Hotel was clean and well presented. Facilities were fantastic including multiple pools with a swim up bar, spas and a gymnasium. The breakfast that was included was outstanding for a complimentary service. The hotel is a 10 minute bus ride into the old town but this posed as no issue as the bus runs every 15 minutes and it always seemed to be waiting out front of the hotel whenever we wanted to go into town. Recommend.

Great for a long weekendPosted Jun 30, 2015
Cons: The reception staff were efficient and polite but not overly friendly or welcoming.
Location: The local village has a good selection of bars and restaurants if you don't want to go into the old town to eat.
The hotel had everything we needed - pool, bar, spa and although it was out of town the bus to/from the old town runs every 15 mins and terminates right outside the hotel so it couldn't have been more convenient. The rooms were on the small side but the bathrooms were modern and clean. The buffet breakfast had a great selection and there were loads of loungers in the pool area so we never felt that we had to rush down to claim one. The spa and indoor pool area was modern and clean.

Great location otherwise far from 5 star,Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Position otherwise not a great deal more
Cons: More humility and if your main source of income is tourism then be more client centric
Location: This is a one day stop location
Staff unfortunately abrupt, and somewhat rude and limited in their desire to help As a five star they seemed to to be penny pinching at every opportunity. Overpriced and under whelming. The position, the vista were beautiful unfortunately the rest did not keep up.

A really lovely, well-appointed hotelPosted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: Being away from the hurly burly of the Old Town, yet a quick 15 minute bus ride away with a bus stop right outside the hotel
From check-in to check-out the experience was first class. Very happy and well-informed staff, comfortable and clean rooms and fantastic food in a number of dining rooms

Hotel was nice, good spa and pool and right on the coast. Good location for getting the bus to the old town or walking to lapad. Breakfast good, lots of choice.

Very Nice Hotel On BeachPosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Quiet, nice room with pretty pool and poolside bar
Cons: The service could be amped up a notch and concierge services made more professional.
Location: The hotel is outside of the busy Old Town but is a convenient bus ride from the hotel entrance to the City Gates. Nice to be out of town.
We stayed at the Palace from Thursday until Sunday in mid-June. We were pleasantly surprised to be given an upgrade from a Deluxe King to an Executive Suite, and our room was quiet and very comfortable. We were on the top floor at the end of a hallway with a long balcony overlooking the sea. Our bed was comfortable and we never heard so much as a door closing in the hallway. I loved the L'Occitane Bath Products. I don't know whether the hotel was a bit understaffed or if this was typical of a Croation 5 star hotel. We had to wait a while at reception before we checking in, despite there not being any people in front of us. There appeared to be only one person at the desk and she was busy. We also had to wait five minutes or so for the concierge to return to her desk the time we made dinner reservations. When she did arrive, she spoke rather disparagingly about the restaurant we wanted reservations ( NIshta- the highest rated restaurant by Rick Steves) and asked if she could recommend another. We were amenable to that and as she finished taking our information she mentioned that the restaurant she was sending us was the partner hotel with the Palace, so of course she lost credibility with us then. It turned out to be fine but was much more expensive and not as good as Nishta, where we ate the next night. We also had a good meal at Mama Mia in Lapad. We also bought bus passes at the hotel but had to ask specifically for the multi-use pass rather than individual tickets.

Great hotel--- good locationPosted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Beauty salon
Great 4 night stay. Excellent breakfasts, pool area and bar. Only negative is salon--- had a shellac varnish which was quite frankly appalling !!! On the positive-- they didn't charge for it.
