Lovely but not 100% sure it warrants 5 starsPosted Nov 4, 2013
This is a lovely hotel. Rooms with balconies overlooking the sea, an excellent pool area and very pleasant upstairs bar. There is also a very convenient bus every 15 minutes from the hotel to the center of town and back, which runs till fairly late. Overall recommended. My gripes, from a 5* perspective were: 1) the room size - no different to a Holiday Inn albeit the bed was huge and the views amazing. 2) Breakfast - we arrived a little late on the first day. They seem to have made all the cooked breakfast at the beginning of the session so by the time we got to breakfast it was a little dry. If they made it in batches it would be so much better. It's also pretty expensive but so is the whole of Dubrovnik.

Fantastic Hotel.Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: It is very chilled and nothing is too much fuss
Cons: To make it a true 5 star the rooms need some glam.
Location: The Hotel is ideal for for the location
Excellent hotel for our stay, it was quiet when we went, which actually suited us as although the hotel was quiet the service was still attentive and caring, breakfast buffet is okay and could not complain, it’s not quite 5 star, ate in the bar/restaurant near the pool, service and food excellent, our superior room is more 4 star than 5 star, but very comfortable and had excellent sea views. The hotel is located next to the sea and is great for a refreshing dip, all facilities available, it’s a very clean, relaxed, and chilled out hotel, views are fantastic and staff are very friendly, in short not too much to complain about. Dubrovnik old town is about 10-15 minutes on bus and the bus stop is outside the hotel and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this hotel for all.

Beautiful and great location.Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: I like everything but the most enjoyable part was the beach, pool, indoors pool etc.
Cons: Maybe to serve food at the beach.
Location: Good location, close to the beach and the old city. Fantastic service with the bus all the time.
We spent seven days in Dubrovnik, the hotel offers you a great and variety breakfasts buffet. The staff is helpful, bilingual, polite and friendly, it was so easy to communicate with everybody. The views are amazing. Excellent hotel.

Friendly with good facilitiesPosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: The indoor pool and spa and pool restaurant and bar.
Cons: The room did not feel like 5 star because of the wear and tear of the furnishings. Some newer, brighter colour schemes would make a big difference.
Location: Number 4 bus stops right outside the hotel and takes 10mins into the old town.
Stayed for four nights in a junior suite. First impressions was the room was dull. The bedspreads were showing signs of wear and the rest of the furnishings were plain and dull. This "suite" was two rooms with a part of a wall removed to make one. So there was two tv's, two bathrooms and two wardrobes and a settee replacing a bed. The balcony was also in two halves with a hole to climb through from one side to the other. We were on the 5th floor and although there was a lot of tree tops spoiling the view a little we did not spend much time in our room or on the balcony so no big draw back for us.The bathrooms were a good size and everywhere was very clean. The mattresses were the best I have ever slept on. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to suit most tastes. We ate in both the beach reaturant and the light and lean bar next to the spa and pool several times and although a bit pricey everything was delicious. The staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. The indoor swimming pool and spa area is great to relax in especially if the weather is bad as is it was one day when we were there.

I'll Be BackPosted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: All rooms have a view of the crystal blue water, out-laying islands and beautiful sunsets.
Cons: The rooms are a little dated for a 5-star hotel and could be upgraded. Considering the price, excellent service and staff I can easily overlook this
Location: You can get almost anywhere by taxi for 70Kn ($12). Public bus transport is located directly in front of the hotel.
I just returned from a 5-night stay (September 2013) and had a wonderful experience. This was my first trip to Dubrovnik and I selected this property after reading other reviews on this site. The staff are truly 5-star... friendly, attentive and helpful.

Nice views but needs a faceliftPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Views of the Adriatic. Helpful staff and Concierge desk.
Cons: Entire room and bathroom. Included breakfast in terms of quality and presentation.
Location: Located in residential neighborhood about 20 minutes from Old Town by bus. There are a few recommended restaurants in the area.
The hotel technically offers all the amenities of a "five star" hotel, but none of the refinements you'd expect - especially at close to $500 per night for a Superior Room (slightly larger than standard with an extra sleeper sofa). The Palace is located in a leafy residential area called Lapad, an easy enough 20 minute bus ride from Old Town where all the tourist attractions of Dubrovnik and many of its restaurants are located. Nearly all the rooms offer fantastic views of the Adriatic, and you can enjoy beautiful sunsets on a private, enclosed balcony. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, despite the ongoing stream of tour buses dropping off large groups at a time in the lobby. The room itself was the disappointment. It's very basic and somewhat depressing given the beautiful views. The bathroom has terrible lighting, 1970s style tile-work and no special finishes. The room was also very basic with staid furniture and a rather small TV, which was difficult to see from the bed as the room was very long and narrow. The included breakfast was OK, although I'd recommend sticking to made-to-order eggs at the counter (be ready for a long wait and line) and the fresh fruit (which was actually very good). Once again, the breakfast dining room was very basic and almost depressing, but the views were amazing to look at every morning while sipping burnt filtered coffee. I booked this hotel as nothing else in same class was available. Advice - keep looking.

Nice hotel with an ocean view.Posted Sep 17, 2013
Cons: A shuttle service to the airport and old city.
Location: Beautiful ocean, pools, restaurants, water activities, and nice hiking trail.
Nice clean ocean view with private pools and beaches. The dining restaurants are great. Staffs are professional and kind. For relaxing vacation, this is your choice.

Return to the Dubrovnik PalcePosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The pools and facilities are particularly good.
Cons: A revamp of the bedroom.
Had another lovely stay at the Dubrovnik Palace. Stunning views of the Elafiti Islands, great leisure facilities and good restaurants and bars. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the bus outside to the old town is frequent and convenient. It's just a short walk to Lapad which offers shops, restaurants and bars and a popular beach. The rooms are slightly dated compared to newer kids on the block but clean and comfortable. No matter how many people are staying it never feels too crowded and offered a truly relaxing experience.

Worth it just for the viewPosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: The views, the staff, the overall feel of the place.
Cons: Having tea making facilities in the room would have been great.
Location: Excellent location close to city.
Hotel has the best setting right on the water and all rooms have a sea view. The room was very clean, comfortable and plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe, with a safe and perfectly decent bathroom with shower. The only thing we would have liked is the facility to make a cup of tea in the morning without having to go to the restaurant for one but that's being picky. We had a birthday when we were out there and the hotel delivered a cake to our room, which was a lovely touch and one of those details that makes this an excellent rating. We didn't eat at the hotel at night but we had breakfast every day and it was one of the best buffets I've seen. There are regular buses to the old town which go from right outside the hotel and are far more reliable than any service over here. It's worth buying a Dubrovnik city card from the hotel concierge if you are going to use the buses - it gives you free bus rides and entry into some places in town. We were there for a long weekend and it worked out in our favour. A lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely views, excellent location and a beautiful city.

Great LocationPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: It was the location, the pool and the beach.
Cons: Bathroom is outdated, needs to be upgraded to be considered as a 5 star hotel. For the price of the room, I will not recommend to my friends.
Location: About 15 to 20min bus ride to town, I like taking buses and conveniently located at the front of the hotel.
The room was great except with the bathroom, not really updated, old style. The only turn off was on my first day, I was inquiring about tours and recommendations on excursions. The girl handling the tours (she was stationed close to the pool) was not really as helpful and gave a very limited information on things to do in Dubronik. Very surprise and disappointed with the service. I decided to just find another place to get tour information outside the hotel and a 10min walk, I found this place across Vis Hotel and they have tours that they recommended me. Basically, booked all the tours with them. It would have been easier if it was book in the hotel.
