Great hotel but beware of the extras

Posted Jul 7, 2014
This hotel is ideally located less than 10 minute walk to the old town of Dubrovnik. We had a room with a sea view and also a view of the old town. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool area is a big plus and it is also right on the Adriatic sea. Indoor pool is also great and the spa is worth a visit. Breakfast if also very good with a very big choice. The staff are friendly and helpful. The one thing that really annoyed me was when I asked for an iron. Reception said housekeeping would come and collect them and do for me. I wasn't expecting to get charged almost 40EUR for this. Absolutely ridiculous for four items especially as I would have done them myself no problem. This would not put me off staying here again but just check hidden charges before you book things.

Ideal location

Cons: Would have liked balcony in our "superior" room, and the room wasn't massive, but as it transpired it didn't really matter.
Location: 5 minute walk into old town
Good location for Dubrovnik, luxury hotel, if slightly inpersonal that these conference type ones are. Beach/terrace was good and handy, breakfast very good.

Terrific hotel close to the old town.

Wonderful 4 nights at the hotel. Sea view room with a balcony was gorgeous. Staff was very helpful - housekeeping especially noteworthy. Had an early flight so the car service the hotel arranged was super. Breakfast was a feast of choices, served on the terrace.

Ideal Location, Gorgeous Hotel, Wonderful Staff

Posted Jun 3, 2014
We were so pleasantly surprised and pleased by how wonderful the hotel was in every way. Our room was RIGHT off the lobby, which at first bothered us, but when we walked in, it was beautiful and quiet, and so convenient! our terrace was above the restaurant and twice we sat there in the evening and listened to a FABULOUS saxophonist playing just below us. The pool and stone terrace right above the Asiatic Sea was heavenly. The desk staff helped us plan a dinner 10k away and helped explain the Kona currency etc etc. I also had my hair blow dry styled to go back to Paris the last day. Such a great experience all-around...it felt like a cruise ship on the ground!!

Well positioned Hotel near the Old City

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: Very central to the old city & boat trips. Lovely panoramic views.
Cons: Nothing really but maybe give discount on a dark room like the one we were in.
Location: Already mentioned them above, if you like history and the sea then you're in the right place.
Everything was great about this hotel, only a short walk to the old city and beautiful views of the sea from the back part of it. The only disappointment we had was the room which was facing the front/road and there was some building work going on all day. The decor was lovely but the room was rather dark. All in all we would recommend this hotel, the service was 1st class and we would definitely go back again (with a see view room).

Fantastic location overlooking the old town.

Pros: Location, food and service. Excellent beds.
Location: If you are a carnivore, buy a one-way ticket on the cable car then follow the restaurant sign. It says 1 kilometer, it's nearer two! Great food.
We had a lovely visit. Dubrovnik is stunning, with some very good restaurants. Hotel is a little dated but very good.

Great hotel close to old town Dubrovnik

Posted Apr 25, 2014
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable with high quality bath products. The complementary breakfast had a wide selection with eggs, meats, seafood, cereals, breads, cheeses, and even mimosas. The adjacent restaurant (Victoria) was a little pricey, but served good quality food that was definitely worth it. Because it rained, we didn't have the chance to experience the beach or swimming area, but the hotel does have that available to guests as well. The location was walkable to and from the old town. All in all, it had everything we wanted for a relaxing getaway.

Good location, 10 minute walk to the old city. Quiet, wonderful view of the city and Locrum island. Wonderful restaurants with terrace views, live entertainment during the summer. Comfortable beds.

Superb service

A great stay, lovely hotel, clean well managed, very helpful front desk throughout stay (helped me with confirming return transfer without a hesitation). Only used hotel for breakfast meals but they were excellent. Head waiter was an absolute proffessional, he was the highlight of our stay, superb service. Highly recommend. Just a short walk from the city walls on what appeared to be the quieter side.

Beautiful scenic position close to the Old Town

Posted Nov 3, 2013
We would highly recommend this hotel for comfort and facilities. The staff were extremely helpful. We only had bed and breakfast as there are so many choices for evening meals around the Old Town. If possible ask for a room on the 7th floor. these rooms have uninterrupted sea view whereas on the other floors the trees get in the way of the view.It is a brisk 5 minute walk down hill to the Old Town and this takes slightly longer on the return coming back up the hill but there are plenty of places to sit on the wall and admire the sea view.We stayed for four nights from 21st October and temperature was in the 70's enabling us to sunbathe and swim in the pool and the sea. Extra light layer of clothing needed in the evening for eating alfresco and most of the restaurants provided blankets for your knees if required.
