    “Fantastic - Croatia's Best Hotel”

The Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik consecutively won World Travel Awards' Best Hotel in Croatia for 2010 and 2011, and its shows. From the quality of the rooms to the attentiveness of the staff on check-in, no detail is overlooked. The hotel is extremely well situated, just steps away from the Old City, as well as close to the one of Dubrovnik's many coves for those wanting a dip in the sea. Whether you want to have a drink at the bar overlooking the sea, grab a workout in the gym, loll in the pool, or simply enjoy the garden, the Imperial offers a pleasant and comfortable retreat. Highly recommended.

    Area recommendations
The Old City of Dubrovnik is a jewel not to be missed. A walk around the city walls is a must.
    When to go
If you travel in mid-October to early November, you can avoid the hustle and bustle of the summer season and the cruise ships. The weather, if you are lucky, can still be quite warm and sunny, offering the opportunity to still swim in the sea, if you desire.
    Getting there
Dubrovnik is about four hours by car from Split. Roads are largely super highway, with construction underway on the last bit. Be aware that you have to travel between Croatia and Bosnia for one section of the route. Look for the stands of fresh oranges by the side of the road just before you pass into Bosnia.
    Dining
Lunch or dinner in the old port's Arsenal restaurant offers romantic views of fishing boats. Stop in, too, to see Szash Lusic, the owner and manager of d'Vino Wine Bar. He has a solid selection of Croatian wines, with an excellent tasting menu. If you like reds, the Mutuska Dincac, with its hints of chocolate and cherry, is sure to please. Nearby, try Dalmatino for traditional Dalmatian cuisine. The seafood platter for two is excellent.

    “Can't Beat the Location!!!”

I have a lot of wonderful things to say about this hotel. The hotel is centrally located right in the heart of Old Town (literally). It is so convenient to take the shuttle bus from the airport to Old Town for 5 Euro and the hotel is right in front of the bus stop making it convenient for late night travelers or people who are not familiar with the area. Old Town is wonderful, lots to do and see. The hotel breakfast buffet was "THE BEST" I have ever had in Europe. It should be advertised as a BRUNCH because it served items that were not necessarily "breakfast-type" choices...or not what I am used to. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. They accommodated many of my needs to the best of their ability. If I had to make a complaint, I would have to say that the internet is extremely expensive. I was a little disappointed that the hotel did not offer a computer in the business center that was free of charge for hotel guests. On the other hand, the fitness room, sauna, and pool were free and well worth it. The fitness center was well equipped with many different machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. Overall, my experience with the hotel was wonderful and I would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoy Dubrovnik!

    “FABULOUS!”

The Hilton Imperial Hotel in Dubrovnik is fantastic.....It is a restored old hotel and they have done a marvelous job. The rooms are spacious and have every convenience. The location is excellent, just a few steps to the Pile Gate, the entrance to the wallled city. I can't recommend it enough!!

    Area recommendations
Exactly where the Hilton Imperial is located, because it is close to all the amenities, restaurants and shops that the Walled City of Dubrovnik offers.
    Getting there
Take the Airport Bus for 5 euros rather than a taxi for 35 euros. It drops you off about a block from the Hilton Imperial

    “WOW! Incredible hotel!”

I am used to Hilton providing a nice stay but this was truly over the top. The hotel is an historical one where the austro-hungarian nomenclature used to vacation. Beautifully renovated with all the modern comfort while maintaining the old charm. The staff was very attentive and open to accomodates the needs of my family with two small kids.Breakfast is faboulos. I was very impressed and we had an awesome stay

    “Great Hotel in Dubrovnik”

We stayed there over Christmas and got a great value on the price of the room and I suspect extra special treatment since there were not many guests due to the holiday. The room was great and the bed very comformtable. Breakfast was excellent and the service was high class. Location very close to walled city. I would stay their again in a heartbeat.

    “I'll Be Back!”

Great Hotel, perhaps the best location in Dubrovnik, and excellent service the whole way. A great and relaxing stay that has convinced me I need to return for another visit. i will recommend this hotel to family and friends.

    Area recommendations
The Hilton Imperial is just outside the main gates leading into the walled old city. At a very slow walk you are in the heart of old Dubrovnik inside of 5 minutes.
    Must see
The Hotel staff recommended a small bar, Buja, that is actually through a hole in the wall of the city. It overlooks the water and has the absolutely best view of the Sunset. Great idea and location.

    “It's about location and comfort”

The hotel is most convenient to the old city without being caught up in the crowds. It is attractive and well maintained with a friendly, competent staff. While not inexpensive and our room had no view, it was well appointed. An extensive breakfast buffet is provided in a large, commercial feeling dining space. The hotel takes care of your car and retrieves it quickly as needed for about 15 euro per day. The quality of the hotel strikes me as better than the Hilton name.

    Area recommendations
Dubrovnik can be very crowded, particularly with cruise ships. The key is to stay close to the old city but not in it.

    “Great location near old Dubrovnik”

Excellent stay in a first class hotel. Had a good room with a private balcony in an annex building -- felt more like a one-room private apartment than a traditional hotel stay. Main hotel had good bar and restaurants, and buffet breakfast was extensive and well-prepared. Location is great for seeing old town - it is just 3 minutes walk from gates of old Dubrovnik. Hotel is surrounded by small shops, bars, and of course the old town is packed with restaurants. Buses stop nearby. Less good location if you want beaches and resort shops. These are accessible by short bus ride but not within walking distance. But ideal for old town sightseeing.

    Area recommendations
Old Dubrovnik is small enough that you can wander at will throughout the walled city. Try to avoid the mornings between about 9:00 and 11:30 when it is packed with tour groups off the cruise ships. My favorite time was between 4pm to 6 pm when the tour groups are back on their ship and things are quiet before the evening meal rush. Explore some of the steep side streets to get a flavor of the city.
