Great hotel in a great locationPosted Aug 30, 2014
Good value for money in a great location - it is close to the airport so there are a few planes overhead during the day, but we didn't notice them very often. The garden rooms are very comfortable and the sea view rooms have fabulous views (and are a little more luxurious). We'd recommend staying on a b&b basis - the breakfast buffet is plentiful and there are lots of lovely restaurants within very easy walking distance for evening meals.

Fantastic stay at hotel Croatia again. Short transfer from airport. Lovely views from rooms, highly recommend sea view room, watching sun set each evening from balcony. In a lovely town cavtat which is a short bus or boat journey from Dubrovnik.

Great location for a easy holiday.Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Location and friendly staff
We have just returned from a great week in Hotel Croatia. Everything was so easy and the people are so friendly (not just the hotel staff). The location is really close to bars and resturants (admittedly it is up a steep hill but that's the price you pay for amazing views) and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The pool side and "beach" are pretty crouded at times so best to bag a lounger early, although this is against the rules. Bring your snorkel the fish are amazing.

Great location.Posted Aug 27, 2014
Cons: Access to sun beds - some people reserve loungers using their towels but don't actually use the beds till later in the day.
Location: Cavtat is a beautiful location. We enjoyed walking around the bays, exploring the old town and dining in the different restaurants.
We have just returned from an enjoyable week at the Hotel Croatia. The sea view rooms have stunning views, especially the higher floors. The air conditioning is extremely efficient. It was a pleasure to return to our room after a day out in the sun! The hotel is very large but is well staffed by friendly, helpful personnel.

Not quite a 5 star, but still worth it!Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: * Facilities (Gym, Pool, Spa) * Friendly staff * A lot of choice is available for food and drink
Cons: * The nightclub wasn't open, and there was no way to tell this without asking staff * The bars were double the price of most places
Location: Great location near the airport, and very helpful for Dubrovnik!
The hotel is in an amazing location, extremely convenient for the airport, and easy to travel to for other local tourist destinations. Hotel drinks and food can be a little pricey, and some of the facilities (especially the gym) need some work to bring up to 5* quality, but the staff are attentive and friendly, and you certainly get the feeling that they're trying to improve things. Overall, a great experience.

Sea view room - wow!Posted Aug 24, 2014
Nothing will prepare you for the gorgeous view from the sea view room. We were on the seventh floor in a deluxe double. Try the BBQ on Tuesdays and/or Fridays at the hotel restaurant by the sun loungers - very reasonable for 150 kunas each and selection of fish, meat, salad and dessert. Cocktails at spinaker bar were lovely. Great place for adults - not sure about kids as there was a little kids room and there were steps into the sea via the bay and a pool but seemed to cater more for adults and to be less child-friendly. There are lots of steps / hills too. For those who can't / don't want to walk far, there is a car or buggy that takes guests from the hotel door to the bottom of the steps / hill where the bay is but only saw this at night - not sure about the day. It is a 5 minute walk into the centre at a steady/fast pace where there are lots of restaurants but we ate in the hotel steakhouse one night and it was nice - starter, main and drinks came to approx £70 and portions were big. All in all, highly recommend, beautiful location and friendly, helpful staff. Two choices of where to sunbathe - deck chairs by the Adriatic Sea with a ladder into the sea or sun loungers with steps into the sea on the bay side. Kids and adults alike loved to snorkel and see the fish - water is crystal clear.

lovely location for hotelPosted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Relaxed, good breakfast buffet, lovely pools and beach facilities.
Cons: Gym not very well equipped. Could do with more lifts
Location: Boat trips to islands and Dubrovnik and bus trips to Dubrovnik and Montenegro ( can waste a lot of time at customs )
Hotel sat on top of headland looking out over sea on both sides. Delightful town has feel of St Tropez but 50 years ago. So without all the obnoxious glitz and glamour and posing! All the big boats moored up in the evenings for people watching bars on the front to sip cocktails, and all at an affordable price. Also some great seafood. Largely the Croatians haven't got the service thing off pat yet! Lots of effort to get you into a restaurant and then leave you without a drink or waiting an eternity for some food. There are a couple of exceptions to this but generally on the next cove along.
