Lovely family holiday - amazing viewsPosted Jul 19, 2014
Spent a lovely ten days here in July - it was our first family holiday with our nine month baby. The hotel has amazing views over the city with friendly staff - they always ensured we had a high chair. The spa/pool and 'beach' were also fantastic. The food though was a bit hit and miss - dishes sometimes arrived cold or uncooked - however the breakfast was excellent. The only downside was the weather!

Amazing!Posted Jun 30, 2014
Top marks for this fantastic hotel! The room, the view, the pool, the sun terrace, the sea... Everything was just great. Free champagne at breakfast was a total bonus! I would definitely go back!

Location excellentPosted Jun 30, 2014
You must upgrade to room with balcony or you might get the room we got very dark with no view at all! Pool area into sea very good sunbed for everybody at any time. Overall facilities very good but not a 5 star hotel . Location excellent could not be better .

Excellent ExcelsiorPosted Jun 25, 2014
We loved our room, comfortable and clean. Wonderful view of the wall and old town of Dubrovnik from our balcony. Great location with a short walk into Old Town Dubrovnik.

View, View, and ViewPosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Beautiful scenery from the balcony, lobby and the restaurant.
Cons: The hair drier was low-powered. I couldn't totally dry my shoulder-length hair even after spending a good bit of time.
Location: The location was almost perfect. Everything is in 5~10 minutes walk - Banje beach, city walls, and old town. You can even find a supermarket - PEMO.
My husband and I spent two nights in a deluxe room at the zero floor. What had satisfied us was a sea view from the balcony of our room. It was just perfect for having a romantic evening with a few glasses of champaign or beer. The locations was also good - close to the old town and city walls. This hotel has a history of 101 years, so you might find out some kind of imperfection. However, I think it's worth standing those petty flaws in order to enjoy other merits including a nice breakfast at the seaside restaurant.

Nice hotel butPosted Jun 15, 2014
Nice hotel but room assignment could be random. I booked this hotel six month ago and I chose deluxe room for the room type. but when I arrived the hotel they gave me probably the worst deluxe room they have. I expected the room with the big balcony which is located on 2nd to 3rd floor since I booked the hotel six months ago. With the same price I paid what I got was nothing different from the rooms without the balcony but just with sea view. It was worthless. I don't know why I paid that much to get that room...

Superb location and excellent facilities.Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Location, facilities and views.
Cons: Better dinner menus.
Location: Dubrovnik itself is the main attraction but it is surrounded by lovely coastal scenery and a number of interesting day trips are available.
Overall it was a most enjoyable experience in a beautiful city. Access to the Adriatic Ocean was easy and the indoor pool, sauna and Turkish Bath were first class. Equally the public areas were attractive with lovely views of the old city. It was an easy 5 minute walk to the old city. The dinner menu was somewhat disappointing and the bedrooms in the new part of the hotel were somewhat cramped without the views that the older part enjoyed. The staff were very professional, well trained and friendly.

A superb hotel overlooking the sea and old townPosted May 2, 2014
Location: The city walls, the cable car and nearby islands are worth doing, as are trips into Montenegro and Bosnia if you have the time.
Want to stay where celebrities stay when they visit Dubrovnik, then this is the place. On a quiet road overlooking the sea and the old harbour, it is in an ideal location and just 5 minutes walk to one of the old town entrance gates. A modern and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff who just want to please and ensure that your stay is perfect. If you want to eat dinner in the hotel rather than walking into the old town then the restaurant is very good and not expensive. A sea-view room is a must, both for waking up to and also watching the sun set over the town.

Excellent hotel in great location.Posted Apr 27, 2014
We spent 3 nights at The Excelsior. It is a short walk from the fascinating sights of Dubrovnik. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to others. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea. The room was clean and well looked after. Both a bath and shower in the en suite. Hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast buffet was ok. Overall a great place for a short break.
