Great Hotel with fantastic views of the harbourPosted Oct 30, 2013
6 of us flew to Dubrovnik on one of our city breaks. We chose Hotel Lapad as our base which proved to be an excellent choice. From an email sent about airport transfers to and from the Hotel which was promptly answered and set up, it had got off to a good start. Flight was 35mins early but the driver was already there for us. Quick no nonsense check in as well. Our 3 rooms were exactly what we booked with a fantastic view of Graz harbour. Rooms were very clean and good facilities. Throughout our stay at the Lapad all of the staff we met were excellent, always greeting us with hello. Breakfast was another big winner with choices of cereals, fruit, continental and cooked food. The crepes and jams were very tasty. The last night we stayed we decided to have our meal at the Hotel, again another good decision with the restaurant buffet being excellent value. Good atmosphere and service in the bar to end the evenings as well. Overall out of the many hotels we have stayed in this was one of the best.

Nice hotel with elegant front and good location.Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Elegancy, service and the breakfast.
Cons: Doors to the bathrooms - should be frosted glass!
Location: Enjoy the harbour front location. There are a few very pleasant restaurants nearby. Easy bus ride to all Dubrovnik old city and all its attractions..
Loved the elegant Edwardian front to the hotel and the pool in the courtyard with statues and fountains. The buffet breakfast was excellent and our bedroom stylish and modern. The glass door to the bathroom was a bit odd though! The location was good with a bus every 10 minutes from the old city to outside the hotel front entrance. It should be noted that the outbound buses are a few minutes walk away though due to the one way road system.

Perfect location for a bit of everythingPosted Oct 28, 2013
Location: Also just a 20 min walk from Copacabana beach.
Located about 30 mins from airport by taxi. Lovely location by the fishing boat marina (with a bus stop right outside - no 6 goes to the old town -and also a boat pick up point for day trips) and beyond is the cruise ship docks which are great to watch. Turn left from hotel to lapad beach where there are plenty of bars and restaurants and family entertainment - about 15 mins walk. Turn right and walk to the old town - the old city walls are about a 45minute amble away along quite a nice route with a pavement all the way. Old town is lovely with museums, churches, ships, harbour, boat trips, restaurants, walls walk, cable car ride to fab views over the town, sea and islands. The hotel is lovely with good buffet selection. Rooms stylish, clean and mod cons inc touch panel for lighting (we were in the basic roo and was very impressed). Lifts to all floors. Pool and lovely pool bar. Great staff. We travelled 22 to 26 October and temps were warm and we were lucky not to have a drop of rain or a cloud. Was slightly out of season but suited us as it was quiet but not dead. Orsan, which is left out of hotel and follow road round to the right serves drinks, snacks and meals right at waters edge - mix of nationalities there and a nice quiet atmosphere. For great menu selection, including huge fresh pizzas visit the restaurant to the right of the sushi restaurant which is at tat the top of the hill on the left (before the crossing to the lapad boulevard that leads down to the sea).

Great location, about 30 minutes walk from the old town. The walk was very pleasant when we were there (mid October) with temperatures in the early 20s. Turn left out of hotel and walk about ten minutes to a pedestrianised area with lots of restaurants and a lovely walk around the coastline. The hotel was very comfortable and extremely clean. We had a corner room with no real view - perhaps worth paying extra for one with more a view but we didn't spend much time there so it didn't matter. We had buffet breakfast included and it was plentiful and varied. We ate in the hotel once, taking the buffet option. It was very popular but not particularly inspiring. There are plenty of other places to eat. Try out the local wines, they are great.

Location: The hotel is very close to lots of very nice little restaurants, the bus stop, you can take boat trips just across from the hotel.
Our experience was very good especially with the staff at the hotel, they were very attentive, polite and professional. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants. We also had a very pleasant time on a walking tour around Lapad.

Pros: Rooms - size, design Staff - efficient, courteous, well presented Food - Breakfast and dinner
Location: Just on the edge of being too far out, but you can walk to Old Town - as I did. Great for boat trips - boats stop immediately in front of hotel.
Great first impression, being greeted with a room upgrade with a sea view. The rooms are modern, well designed, excellently finished contained within a lovely grand old building. The staff were courteous and friendly and the service in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was fantastic - spoilt for choice. The bar was OK, nothing flashy but serviceable none-the-less. Although about a 20 min walk (10 min bus trip) out of the old town, it is really well located for trips to the local islands - boats moor up immediately in front of the hotel. Highly recommended.
