Not the most comfortable!Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Not a bad location - right beside the sea; however, the rooms were not comfortable at all. The beds were very uncomfortable, the bathroom was very small, the bathroom door did not close right. Our balcony door also did not lock properly, although the hotel did fix this once we highlighted it. TV was very small and had very few channels for English speaking tourists. I wouldn't be in a hurry to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bus just outside the door, easy to get to Old TownPosted Sep 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
All rooms have ocean view with doors that open to a patio. Very pretty! Our room had an antechamber, which great. Other rooms were small. Hotel has great grounds, swimming area, breakfast had a very good variety. Only negative was there is no lift although bellmen carried luggage up the three flights of stairs. Air conditioning worked, but a little weak (although I like it artic cold). Tip, bus outside of hotel will sell you tickets for more each way than a Day Pass from hotel! (Of course we did not know this!) Taxi is slightly higher. but check for price. Hotel Splendid is right there on hotel row. Nice property.

walled cityPosted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our stay was very pleasant. You can take the local bus to the walled city. We paid each ride but found out later that you can but a daily pass. This would have been much cheaper. you buy them at the hotel and they never told us although they did have the bus schedule posted at the front desk

Beautiful sea views though a little datedPosted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: Sea views, friendly staff
Location: Lovely beaches, lots of choices for food and drinks, entertainment in the resort nearby.
Hotel rooms all had sea views and the hotel is in a perfect spot. The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel feels a little dated and in need of a refurbishment though perhaps it would lose some of its charm if that were to happen.

Decent, clean hotel with amazing sea views.Posted Sep 2, 2013
The hotel was pretty basic in that it didn't have much in the way of facilities, but was clean and the staff were always willing to help and were very friendly. The view from the room was fantastic.

Good, but could be so much better.Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Location Snorkelling Mostly helpful staff Reliable staff eg booked taxis arrived in time to and from airport
Cons: Quality of food Turn off the horrible tinny music in beach bar and bar in the hotel. Building work next door to have finished.
Location: Good for visiting Dubrovnik old town. Good for snorkelling. We enjoyed trips to Lokrum, Kolocep and Mali Ston.
Great location just outside of Dubrovnik but it doesn't make the best of it (eg terrace bar with an amazing sunset view closes at 6pm!). It's still state run and it shows - a bit like council run places in this country. It worked for us though. For example you can take your own drinks down to the terrace after 6pm and they are quite happy to empty the minibar so that you can stock it with cheap water from the supermarket and picnic stuff! The staff are helpful and friendly (eg the staff at breakfast were fine with me taking breakfast up to teenagers who couldn't quite make it to breakfast by 10am - they even offered me a tray!). If the food was better we would have eaten there quite often probably. As it was we had a couple of dull lunches there only (and it isn't good value). Another irritation was that we had been promised two double balcony rooms by Expedia, but the hotel insisted that just meant 2 double rooms (though there are clearly single balcony rooms (we had one) and double balcony rooms (our children had one of those - basically a triple). A bit annoying because we had paid for two superior rooms - but the manager on reception clearly wasn't going to change his mind so we felt it wasn't worth arguing and losing the goodwill of the staff. Another niggle was having to pay for use if the tennis court. No mention of that anywhere! Still, my husband paid for some lessons with the coach which were really good. The beach is excellent for snorkelling.

Great hotel and location for family holidayPosted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, supberb location
Cons: Air conditioning could be a lot better and pillows were uncomfortable
Location: Simply superb. Great views of the Adriatic and close to Dubrovnik old town.
Great place to stay with wonderful breathtaking views of the Adriatic. Location superb, 15 minute local bus ride into old Dubrovnik. Staff were very friendly and very helpful too. Food was of good quality, offering a good variety for breakfast and evening meal at reasonable prices. Great private beach, and although quite 'pebbly' it was a lot better than other beaches around. Very central to a good selection of activities. Try the Blue Planet scuba diving centre at the next hotel, excellent instructors and a great experience for children and parents; island hopping excursion trips; boats for hire, car rental, and a wonderful selection of good quality restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Top tips, car rental is very cheap so if you have the time try and fit in a visit to Kotor in Montenegro, fantastic scenic drive and beautiful town when you get there, and a trip to Mostar to see diving from the 21m Mostar bridge and explore the 'eastern' feel of street stallsthe renovated town . But BE AWARE.... despite EU open borders expect to wait up to 1.5 - 2 hours to get through the border control out of Croatia during the peak season...

Close to beachPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Smell of damp in my room. Awful!
Location: Had its own pebble beach and was in walking distance of others if you fancied a change. Easy access by bus to town (about 10 mins on no 4)
The location of this hotel was great, right by the beach and easy to get into Dubrovnik by bus. The facilities in the room I was in were fine and it was kept clean however it had an awful smell of damp that was really off-putting. Internet access was also a bit intermittent. Staff were very helpful.

Great LocationPosted Jul 17, 2013
Pros: Having breakfast overlooking the bay
Location: Quite location but within walking distance to Lapad Bay for the bars and restaurants
In a quite location overlooking Lapad Bay this hotel offers good value for money. The hotel staff are very helpful and the rooms and hotel areas are kept clean. There is a good selection at breakfast which you can have on the patio area overlooking the bay with stunning views! The only downside is that the hotel could do with a paint up to give it a freshen up. Overall for a 3* it ticks all the correct boxes. It's a short bus ride the 'The Old Town' which is worth going into both during the day and the evening. There are plenty of excursions to go on, lots of walking you can do or just to laze around the bay and swim in the aquamarine sea. It's a fatastic holiday destination, one that I highly recommend!

Could be perfect except...Posted Jul 5, 2013
Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. But needs a few modernizations. Our air conditioning unit was not adequate, and there is no longer any excuse for no in-room internet. It is silly that such a lovely hotel does not make the few minor improvements that it would need to be so much better.
