The hotel overlooks the sea and has all of the facilities that you would need. The rooms are clean and comfortable although a little small, but if you can, it is worth getting one with a sea view. The staff made our stay very relaxing and were helpful and friendly. This hotel is ideal if you want a quiet island holiday, but within a short ferry ride from Dubrovnik old city.

“Paradise Island”

Stunning location in a quiet bay on island about 25 minutes on ferry from Dubrovnik. Lovely pool area. Rooms peaceful and cool. Great view over sea from restaurant and the sea and little sandy beach only a few metres away from the pool. Quiet means not much else there, so use the boat trips etc to see the area. Want to go back!

“Excellent service”

This is a clean and well organized hotel. What particularly stood out was the staff. They are friendly and helpful; always able to help with any questions and they spoke excellent English. The setting is so picturesque. We arrived late at night so when I went down to breakfast the next day, the view took my breath away! There is AC, free internet and films in the rooms :-) This is an excellent hotel for couples as it's a lovely island to explore. There were also lots of young families enjoying the pool, the beach and the sea. There were kayaking and snorkelling activities available. However I wouldn't recommend it to young singles who want to party as it's quite a quiet island. Nor would I recommend it to people with mobility difficulties as there are many many steps and the walks around the island can be quite uneven underfoot.

“Perfect quiet break.”

Just a perfect, quiet get away. Kolocep is a beautiful small, quiet island. Hotel really good, so clean. Food fine, but the staff are so friendly. Maybe more suited to adults, as limited things for little ones. There are also a fair few steps around. The restaurant at the far end (5 min walk) has amazing food, and the sunsets in front of it every evening which means amazing views of the blue sea. The break was perfect, scenery, friendliness, staff and hotel very clean and great room. Amazing views! You'll go to sleep to the sound of the sea every night without fail! Would definitely recommend without hesitation. You must go to Dubrovnik, but go early in the morning to miss the crowds and cruise ships. Amazing city! Just ensure you check the ferry times, as we got caught out a few times.

“a great hotel on an absolutely gorgeous island”

The hotel is everything you'd expect for a 3* place - it's top of this range! Basic, but everything you need is there and it's so clean and lovely. BUT even if the hotel wasn't so pleasant we still would have had a great time because the island is just so gorgeous. I've been round the world and back many times and Kolocep is my favourite- so charming, small, it's a very personal experience of the culture and the landscape so unspoilt. Make sure you venture to teh other side of the island away from the hotel and often you'll only come across a handful of people in the entire day and all of them locals. Just gorgeous. Forget Dubrovnik- it's a gorgeous city but you can do it in one day. Go kolocep!

“Good Option for Dubrovnik”

If you are looking to visit Dubrovnik and are struggling to find a decent hotel with a reasonable price then I would recommend the Hotel Villas Kolocep. Located on the island of Kolocep, a mere 25 minute ferry ride from the main town port on the Jadrolinija ferry service, this hotel makes the smart choice for those looking for a cheaper option whilst still staying in good quality accomodation. Kolocep has approx 120 residents plus the guests of the hotel which makes it a very quiet, relaxed island and the laid back style of the hotel and the activities on fits well.

“My best holidays”

In room you have everything you need: comfortable big bed, air condition, computer with free internet, mini bar, every day cleaning... Island is amaizing, beautiful, with interesting views, clear wather, glorious green, you can borrow kayak and take a trip arround the island (it takes 3 hours). Comunications beetwen Kolocep and Dubrovnik is easy and it is only 25 minutes but on Kolocep you can realy rest, it's quiet (in Dubrovnik is too much tourist - I was on August). I realy recomend to spend vacations on Kolocep - is unforgetable!

“Croatian Tranquility”

A friend had originally booked to stay at a hotel in Dubrovnik on the mainland. When our travel plans coincided I suggested we go for a higher-starred hotel on Kolocep instead. It was a great decision. We had just had an energetic four days at the Exit Festival in Serbia, and what we wanted was a few days' relaxation. Kolocep Island is regularly served by ferries from the mainland and other islands, and was unbelievably uncrowded - despite being in mid July. The culture shock when I spent an afternoon away from Kolocep visiting the old town in Dubrovnik was extreme - simply swarming with tourists, whereas our little island was really tranquil. Not a place for wild night life, though the hotel has regular themed musical evenings in the restaurant. The hotel is situated by the water's edge with its own sandy beach, and has a medium-sized but very adequate pool of its own. The rooms are nicely-furnished, regularly cleaned, but are in 5 separate blocks without lifts. For the older traveller it would be advisable to request a room in Block One or Two to save the extra walk from the hotel front. The buffet breakfast was substantial and worthwhile (compared with some breakfast-included establishments I've stayed in!) and I'm told evening meals were good also. However we chose to eat out every evening at local hostelries. By far the better of these was the Villa Ruza, just ten minutes stroll from the hotel which offers stunning views over the Adriatic and genuinely gourmet food. .
