Hotel next to the beach in a great location.

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: It's location in Lapad and easy accesibility to Dubrovnik. It's located in a very pretty cove.
Cons: The hotel could be updated. Some parts of Lapad seemed a bit run down but this may have been the lateness of the season.
Location: It's in a great location. We particularly liked the cave bar across the bay (Cave More). There's lots of boat trips available from Lapad.
We are a group of 4 ladies who visited Hotel Vis for a long week-end. The reception staff on our arrival were helpful and friendly and we found most of the staff pleasant. As others have already stated, the hotel is a bit dated and our room was rather small. However, it was kept extremely clean throughout our stay and the bed was comfortable. The food was particularly good and very plentiful with options to suit all tastes. The hotel is situated right next to a pebble beach and the water was clean and blue. We visited the hotel in early October and were among the youngest people staying at this time of year (we are in our mid 40s).

Way too small a room

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The breakfast buffet was nice and so was the view from the outside bar.
Cons: Completely redo the rooms.
Location: Location was good, the bus to the old town was right outside.
I ended up with a roommate, I was on a hiking tour. The room was narrow and not even that long, the 2 twin beds were laid out along the wall, foot to foot. And the shower was added on to the room along with a tiny balcony which overlooked nothing, both were too small.

Proximity to the beach

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Other than the proximity to the beach, this hotel is pretty bad. Food was awful. Some hotel staff were rude. The decor is dated. Generally clean, but still... I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay.

We had a breakfast and dinner plan included which was convenient. Bus to old town was right in front. Buy bus passes at hotel front desk. We did figure that a beach lounge would be free for guests but they were 30 kunas. Overall it is a very nice hotel with a nice beach and places to walk to nearby.

super location

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: the location , the size, it was clean and extremely good value for money.
Cons: the beds, the soundproofing and the food.
Location: it is within easy reach of everything you need to do locally, and if you want to tour further afield there are many agents available.
very uncomfortable bed, soundproofing not very good, buffet dinners no very imaginative but food in general in Dubrovnik not up to much.

Great location

This hotel is in a brilliant location, right on its own private beach. Good points: Breakfast area, with a terrace looking out over the beach, making for a relaxing start to the day. The breakfast itself was good. The hotel is spotlessly clean, has free parking and free wifi (though not in the bedrooms). The beach is beautiful, with various watersports available. The hotel is a slight distance from Dubrovnik Old Town, but it is easy to get a bus from outside the hotel - tickets can be purchased at a discount from the hotel reception. The hotel is close to a pleasant small resort area with a handful of restaurants and bars. Not such good points: On arrival, I was given a ground floor room. I asked if I could pay to upgrade to a sea view room, or at least have a room on a higher floor, but was promptly informed that I would get the room that I had booked. The receptionist did not even check the system for availability. The courtesy of the staff at this hotel was extremely variable, ranging from very helpful to quite rude. The room, though very clean, was extremely dated with a blanket instead of a duvet and old furniture. The 'park view balcony' was interesting. This had one old plastic chair and a view of some kind of outbuilding and some vegetation. There was certainly no park in sight! Overall, this is a reasonable hotel. Its excellent location and well maintained private beach make up for any short-fallings
