Awesome stay in Dubrovnik. Just as advertised. Quaint, yet modern. Very well appointed apartment facing the Adriatic with a balcony. Kate was an AWESOME host. Like many properties of this type in Europe, not the easiest to find. I was walking on the property next-door, and Kate stuck her head out the window and asked if I was looking for her place. She checked me in, gave me an overview of the area, give me some pointers about visiting old town, provided me with a map and instructions how to get there. Everything worked perfectly, from her directions to the Wi-Fi to the coffee and tea that was provided. Old town is a 25 minute walk, but it is very safe and very pleasant. I travel a lot, usually for work, and I’ve got to say this is the best stay I’ve had in the last two years. The property is charming, and so is Kate. You won’t go wrong by staying here.

We stayed i at Kate's place for 3 nights in July 2021. Absolutely clean and modern. Fully equipped with everything you need. 5 min drive from the old town. Kate was so easy to communicate with , very helpful with info about tours and restaurants and always responded to my texts. Will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

Nice appartment, great hostess
Fantastic hostess, couldn't be more welcoming! Very clean. Nice view of the open sea from the balcony. Everything works well in the appartment: A/C, shower, hot water, fridge, etc. However, beds were on the soft side, something to keep in mind if you have a bad back. At the time that we went, it was so hot that the walk to the old city would have been grueling (mostly down to the city and up to go back to the appartment). Taxis are not cheap in Dubrovnik so unfortunately it adds to the overall cost of the stay. Kate referred us to a great restaurant outside the city walls.

We felt fortunate to have found Kate's Place in the tourists packed Dubrovnic. The suite had a nice ocean view. It was within walking distance to the walled old city but did not have the noise and the hustle and bustle of the old city. It was a manageable 20 minutes of walk to the old city. The hostess was very polite and friendly. We were greeted with cold drinks and tips about what to see and do in town. We would like to thank Kate for a pleasant stay at her place.

Only thing I can say it was spectacular vie everything else for terrible room to small beds are to small no frigid and not even drinking water for that amount of money I could stay better places around the world. Also I don’t know where they get that picture but that picture on the advertisement nothing to do with actual place

Room with great sea view and location
We love our stay at Kate’s place. The view from balcony is fantastic. Kate is very nice, we had our welcome drink when we arrived at her place and she introduced us how to get to the old town from her place and recommended good restaurants and markets around. The old town is very crowded and difficult for driving and parking, so walking to the old town is a good option. Kate’s place is perfect located for that and it is about 20 to 30 mins walking to the old town. Highly recommended for whoever stay at Dubrovnik

I stayed at four different apartments in Croatia, so I would be able to compare Kate aparmtment with the others. The main reason that I reserved this apartment is that there is a parking space. Pros: Good ocean view, parking space, and new apartment Cons: very poor amenities, If you are going to cook, I would not recommend this apartment. Electric range power is too low. Pans are very low quality, no cooking oil, pepper, salt, ketchup, dressing, kitchen towel etc. Everything you should bring by yourself while all the other apartments supplied those basic supplies. No shampoo, no rinse, in bath room.. It made us so uncomfortble. Because we brought everything with us in a rent car, we could stay without asking her. I told Kate that she needs to improve significantly. If somebody could update the condition after this review, it would help to update to the next travellers. While other apartments provided basic sparkling water, soda, beer, snack, wine, fruits, in the refirigerator, this apartment provided a welcome drink and snack next day. The very small refrigerate was empty. Even though Dubrovnic is expensive, the price does not deserve the quiality of service. Locaton is too far from old town to walk.

The sea view from the balcony was stunning. Lovely appartment with eveything you need for a short stay. Nice 20 or 25 mn walk to the old town along the sea and Uber when you are tired at night.Kate is a brilliant host and will help you with everything from taxi to good restaurants. We will be back. Perfect Kate
Kate was great! She explained in perfect English the walk to the old town and short cut to get there in a 20 min walk. Also advised us for food shopping and restaurants. All was great. We had a big thunderstorm at night but were lucky to stay dry while walking the wall.

Lovely apartment
Great place to stay with a fantastic sea view, especially breakfast on the balcony each morning. Kate was very welcoming when we arrived and offered us a drink along with information on the local area and Dubrovnik. The apartment was about a 20 min walk from Dubrovnik old town but there were several great views along the way. The apartment was perfect for a short stay and we would stay here again if we were to return to Dubrovnik.

Quiet neighborhood
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, the apartment has beautiful sea views. You can eat breakfast and watch the tour boats. Kate and her husband were very welcoming and Kate's advice about getting to the Old City and back, restaurants, shops and Dubrovnik card was excellent. Be prepared to walk twenty minutes to get to the Pile Gate. We would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay and Kate and Mario were terrific hosts. The apartment is well situated and completely furnished with everything you might need. The location is excellent,5 minutes to the beach and 15 walk to Old City. The added bonus was a washing machine so clean clothes,when travelling are always appreciated. I would highly recommend Kate’s place in Dubrovnik.

What a wonderful way to start of holiday in Croatia. Our apartment was spacious and the view absolutely breathtaking. After letting us settle in Kate arrived at our door with cold drinks, maps and lots of information about how to get around the area (short cuts etc., locations of supermarkets and restaurants, local knowledge). It was a real home away from home.

Good for a 2 night stay. 25 min. walk to old town so took bus for 12 Kunas. (if bought at tobacco shop) Nice little balcony with sea view. Kate was very nice!

Kate is a thoughtful and kind hostess! She provided us with everything we needed, from walking directions to Old Town, restaurants, etc.. The views from the balcony are breath taking! We enjoyed every morning and every evening out there, watching ships and boats go by. This location is not too close to the business of the Old Town, yet close enough to access tourist attractions with ease.

studio just outside old Dubrovnik
Vacation stay. Pros: Lovely studio. enjoyed the little kitchen. The patio was nice. The apartment is a 20 minute walk to the old city, but includes inclines & stairs. We had a bit of a water view. there was plenty of room for the 3 of us. Kate speaks perfect English & was extremely hospitable. She gave us a map, helped plan our routes & had suggestions for how to spend our time during our Dubrovnik visit. There is a wash machine in the unit, very welcome after a week of travel. Free street parking directly in front of our unit. Cons: Cash only. I wish this had been advertised before we arrived. but there are plenty of ATMs in the area. I saw one other traveler who gave only 1 star due to bad view. This studio is not in Kate's main apartment (the one with the gorgeous views in the advertisement). We didn't mind much because we were there to visit the city and did not sit around much looking at the view. We saw the waterfront plenty during our walks, time in old Dubrovnik & walked the few short steps to the waterfront by our studio. There are about 8 stairs up to the unit, this would not be ideal for someone with mobility issues.

Great location very friendly people.
This is in a great location with great views. Kate and Mario are really friendly and helpful. It is a nice quiet area and only a short walk into Dubrovnik old town. There is also an excellent beach nearby.

Kate and Marco will make you feel like you are at home! They ensure you have everything you need and know your way around. I loved having a kitchen, self-controlled air conditioner, and the location is a perfect walking distance to old town -- close enough to walk but just far enough you don't get all the noise.

We really enjoyed staying at "Kate's Place". We had a most gracious and accommodating host. This is a professionally run operation with incredibly nice people in addition! The apartment has an excellent view of the Adriatic, and is a 20 minute walk to Old Town. We like to walk after dinner anyway! The apartment was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Kate explained how to make the most of out stay in Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is awesome. She also recommended an excellent restaurant. We would absolutely stay here again. Please note that your bill should be paid in cash, Kuna (Croatian) or Euro. Plenty of ATMs available.

The landlady is absolutely lovely and will help with any issues. And what a view! stunning! The outside door shutter was broken so it had a tendency to slam shut when you are sat having dinner, but it wasn't too annoying. It would be nice to have a shower hook though, so you can be hands free whilst washing your hair! But overall the placement (right near old town) and the view are the big winners here.

This apartment was all that we needed for a quick getaway to Dubrovnik! Kate met us outside and walked us through the apartment, described how to get to Old Town (15 min walk), and where the best beaches to swim were. She even set us up with an island tour that picked us up from our door.
