Nice, quiet but its a bit of a hike up there!Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: View from window behind toilet. shower was good. bathroom was clean no mould. Rooms were also clean.
Cons: Please put in cable TV!!! Provide queen sized sheets. And would be nice if they put some outdoor table and chairs so we could enjoy balcony
Location: Close to the ploce beach. Bring or rent water shoes / seatings / beach umbrealla cuz beach is stony.
Lady was really nice and helpful. The room was nice and air conditioned. Free Wi-fi was good especially as there was no TV, but there was a fridge to keep drinks cool. There is only one other room next to us so it was quiet, felt like a guest house rather than a hotel which was nice. we only stayed two nights which is about right for dubrovinik as it's a very expensive town all up. The price of one night of this hotel is equivilent to 3.5 nights in montenegro where you get more for your money. Didn't like that the "double bed" was just two singles pushed together, rather uncomfortable. also instead of a queen-sized sheet, we were given one single sheet each which was a bit strange. This hotel's best view is from the window next to the toilet in the shared bathroom. its pretty awesome!

Very nice people and great neighbors!Posted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Even though I did not rate this place highly I really enjoyed our stay. The owner's son Tony was so helpful and friendly. He met us downtown and guided us to the parking & then the house since street addresses in Old Town are a nightmare. The room was small and it had a shared bathroom. The shower was difficult because you had to hold the shower head in order to use it. The neighbor Viki and her son Matteo were amazingly helpful since Tony did not live onsite. Overall, the stay was enjoyable.

Basic room but great value and locationPosted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was very simple with just a bed, fridge and air conditioning but this should be all you need as a base to explore beautiful Dubrovnik. Although the apartment is at the top of one of Dubrovnik's many steep stone staircases, you soon get used to--and maybe even begin to enjoy--the climb home. The location within the city walls is great for looking around the old town and the view from the little bathroom window is spectacular. We also found that the restaurant a couple of doors down, Lady Pi Pi, served delicious food and decent value, although it does seem to close when it's raining!

Basic room in the Old CityPosted Aug 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
Although the room was very basic, the location is excellent (close to one of the entrances through the wall) and the owner's son was gracious enough to collect me and drop me off in his car. That more than made up for the simple accommodations.
Old Town DubrovnikPosted Aug 15, 2012 on Hotels.com
If stairs aren't for you, then most of old Dubrovnik isn't either. This wonderful medieval city which sheltered its residents during the early 90s was built long before cars and is meant for pedestrians. Many of the "roads" are long staircases. Airconditioning provides respite from the summer heat. If you want a quiet and historic place to stay in the city, this is it.

Nice and friendly but very basic accommodationPosted Jun 10, 2012
Pros: Because you are at the highest point of the town, the views from and close to the accommodation are lovely.
Cons: I think the rooms need to be checked and cleaned each day. There is no shared area to relax - you just have a room and a shared bathroom - no lounge.
Location: At the highest point of the old town literally facing the town walls. This is an advantage (beautiful views) and disadvantage (climbing steep steps).
The rooms are in the old town at the highest point opposite the town walls. The owner and her son were absolutely lovely and friendly but I only met them once. The room was very basic but clean. There was a bed, a side table with a lamp and a wardrobe. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and there were lots of spare blankets to keep you warm at night. There was also a mini fridge in the room which was very useful. Unfortunately there was no TV or clock/radio. The floor needed vacuuming and/or mopping. It was very dusty but this was probably my fault because I kept the window open to air the room. The shared bathroom was quite clean and well stocked. I was expecting my rubbish bin to be emptied each day but no one did any room service or maintenance whilst I was there, so don't expect your bed to be made up! DO NOT enter from Pile Gate if you have a big suitcase! I understand the owner probably wants to make an impression on the new visitor, because the old city of Dubrovnik is spectacular, but there are many, many steps to get to the hotel and hauling luggage up those very steep steps is not fun for your back! Try to travel light. Enter from the North Gate. It is much closer to the rooms. There are still steps but not as many and not as steep. Do the steep steps after you have deposited your luggage! This is a nice, simple place to stay with a friendly owner who spoke quite good English. Just keep in mind that you are getting the bare basics.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, great location too.Posted Jul 30, 2011 on Hotels.com
The building is located at the highest point in the Old Town adjacent to the town wall which enabled us to have a wonderful view across the roof tops to the sea at the far side of the town (it is a diagonal view out of the shuttered window). The room and bathroom are very basic (bear in mind this is an old building in an old town) but adequate, comfortable with a wide bed and perfectly clean. The location is very quiet but only a short walk to the many bars and restaurants. There is one restaurant closer, only a few doors away, where we had good food at breakfast and dinner. Remember, this is a room (as described), not a hotel. If you are going to visit Dubrovnik, why stay anywhere else but the Old Town. There are many steps to climb to get from the main street to the room as the town is built on a hill, take your time and enjoy the narrow passages, there are some nice cafe/bars on the way. If you want 5 star luxury then this would not suit you but if you want a truely great experience in a wonderful town then look no further. When we return to Dubrovnik one day, we will try and stay here again.

HORRIBLE!!!Posted Jul 18, 2011 on Hotels.com
This "hotel" was a nightmare! First, you must walk up about 200 stairs to reach the place (there is no other option, as cars are not allowed in the Old Town), then our room was tiny, we had to share a bathroom and there was no air conditioner or even a fan. And since Dubrovnik is very warm in the summer, a fan or AC is much needed. Upon our arrival, no one answered the door, and we had to call the hotel and were told that the keys were in the mailbox. No one was available to help us throughout our stay, except the owner's brother who was constantly sleeping upstairs and would come down wearing only a towel. The room had old linens and we did not receive any housekeeping services during our 2 night stay.
