Good hotel with lovely view

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Parking and good breakfast
Location: As stated above
Even though this was a lovely hotel it was too much like a holiday camp resort! we would have preferred something more intimate! But this was our problem not the hotel! The parking was great with easy acces to No.6 bus toget to the old town in Dubrovnik

Great Value

Half the price as many others in the area, same great views and amenities as others. Great pool, reasonable lunch/beer/cocktails. Very few children. Lots of middle aged Germans. Very quite and relaxed guests.

Perfect location to give a bit of everything

A sublime week at the Argosy. Swimming in the Infinity pool as the sun set on a scorching day of tanning was hard to beat. Easy access to the Old Town, responsive staff and a quick walk to a rustic beach make for a great holiday. More fruit at breakfast would make it perfect!

Nice hotel with stunning views across the bay.

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, good food, nice pool and stunning views.
Cons: Evening entertainment. Music around the pool for part of the day.
Location: Location was excellent if a little quiet. Easy access to the old town and plenty of trips to choose from.
The location is generally quiet and the hotel is more suited to adults rather than children in terms of the facilities. Easy access into the old town of Dubrovnik via the very frequent and inexpensive local bus service (every ten minutes). The food was very good, half board, but I would recommend eating in the old town to break things up. This location gives you the opportunity to combine three elements of the holiday, a city break with a good hotel with very good facilities and the opportunity to explore Croatia and the rest of the former Yugoslavia. The evening entertainment was very traditional Croatian style which was a little bit boring and repetitive. Aqua aerobics was advertised as every day except Friday, but was hit and miss as to when he turned up although he was very good when he did. The hotel staff are efficient and attentive. A 7 or 10 day stay is about the right length. I booked the flights separately from the hotel which worked out cheaper.

Lovely hotel close to the beach

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: We loved the location and the comfort of our room but have to praise the food. A large variety for all tastes, freshly cooked. A highlight!
Cons: Be careful with ordering drinks. They aren't included in the overall price and we saw a big bill at the end after just charging them all to our room.
Location: The bus stop and beach are close by. In the Old Town, don't miss out on a walking tour (we did a GoT one) the cable car and a boat trip to Lokrum.
We had an excellent stay at the Valamar Argosy a couple of weeks ago. The location is fantastic being a short walk from both the beach and bus stop to reach the Old Town. The staff were friendly and helpful as well as the pool being beautiful with a spectacular view. There was always room on the sunbeds around the pool and aqua-aerobics each morning was certainly great fun. The food was also particularly wonderful. There was a large variety and it was all freshly cooked. The seafood was a particular treat in its freshness and quality. Our room was large, comfortable and well furnished. A beautiful and comfortable hotel where you certainly get your money's worth!

Nice hotel in a quiet area of Dubrovnik

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Very relaxed informal hotel. Plenty sun beds at a pool with lovely views.
Cons: Even though the staff were efficient and polite it would have been nicer if they were to serve you with a smile.
Location: The hotel was on the outskirts of Dubrovnik beside other hotels. Near cocacabana beach. The number 6 bus which ran frequently took you into the centre
On holiday with my daughter. From the check in to the check out everything was stress free. Enjoyed sitting watching the sunset while eating dinner.

Short break in Dubrovnik (wish we'd booked longer)

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: The view, the value for money and the staff's helpful and friendly manner. The pool was lovely and you could always get a sun lounger, which is great
Cons: Possibly a slightly more varied menu for lunch, but this is just being picky.
Location: There are many beaches with water sports available and plenty of tours that are easy to organise. The city wall walk is really good and the cable car
We only had a short break in Dubrovnik, but wish we had booked longer. The hotel was in a perfect location for us, up in the hills with commanding views, especially for the wonderful sunsets. The hotel has everything you could want and the staff are very friendly and helpful and they speak English very well indeed. It is also very good value for money, which we discovered when we went into the main town, where it was much more expensive to eat and drink. The bus into town was extremely good value and regular, so that made life very easy. If we had been staying longer, we would probably have bought the Dubrovnik card, which gives you entry to a lot of museums. As our flight wasn't until 8pm, the hotel were really accommodating letting us use all the facilities and showers right up until the time we departed. They were also very helpful organising transfers to the airport for a good price. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
