“stay in old Dubrovnik”

Situated on a quiet side street in the middle of the walled old city of Dubrovnik, the Villa Flores is a recently renovated building easily 300 years old. The rooms are actually small apartments/suites with small living, very functional kitchen and large bathroom. My room was on the first level above the street. I was looking for a neighborhood/ local experience and this place fit that bill. The hotel has no services. None were expected as it is more of apartments. However cafe's, grocery and shopping are just steps away and the experience allows for real interaction with the local community. Access to the hotel is by foot as no vehicles are allowed in the old city. The only thing I would have liked more information about would have been parking directions before I got there. The owner contacted me a day ahead of time to verify my arrival information and was waiting for me at my arrival. I did not have to make any additional calls or contact. If someone is looking for an authentic local experience in Dubrovnik with very pleasant accommodations then I recommend Villa Flores.
