Annex of Grand Villa Argentina....still torn.Posted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Concierge was really helpful. You get what you pay for. Old, well kept setting close to old-town DBV.
Cons: I contacted the hotel beforehand to change my reservation from Glavic to Grand Villa Argentina, never heard from them until I checked in.
What you have read is true. Although the building is accross the street from Grand Villa Argentina, you better hope you are given a room in the first floor, or be ready to climb some stairs....which makes it a bit of a hassle when carrying heavy luggage. Ammenities are good and views from the hotel are also good, but there is no readon to stay here if a room can be booked at Grand Villa Argentina. I picked this hotel since the reviews said the views were much better, but they are not. And it jsut makes it uncomfortable to have to go to the main building to get to the pool, concierge, front desk, dining room, etc. That aside, the hotel provides everything you would expect, but I would not consider a 5 star for it. Small, clean room, heavyly decorated, great views in the main building, friendly staff, L´occitane ammenities. Do not expect anything modern and, if you do not mind a bit of cardio before going to bed, then you will hold no objections.

Nice hotel with a good view of the old townPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: Breakfast in a restaurant with a splendid view of the old town.
Cons: Giver warning that Villa Glavic is separate physically from Villa Argentina.
Location: Walk round the old town city wall. Excursion to Mostar and Montenegro (Perast is beautiful).
We had a most enjoyable holiday in Dubrovnik. The Villa Glavic is in fact part of Villa Argentina and we can use all the facilities in Argentina. The only down side is having to cross the road, but that is not a big problem unless it is pouring down with rain. We stayed in a ground floor room with a glimpse of the sea from our window. Those who stayed upstairs will have to climb stairs as there is no lift in Villa Glavic and some rooms may be facing the hill rather than the sea.

DisapointingPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: the hotel has a nice view and close proximity to the old town
the room that we stayed was dated, the breakfast was disappointing, over price for the value.

Own beach and 10 min stroll to the Old TownPosted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Villa Glavic is only across a very narrow road from the main entrance to the hotel so it was very convenient. Everything about the hotel was fantastic, I had been worried about one or two slightly negative reveiws about Villa Glavic but you are treated as a guest of the main hotel - they make no differntiation. The food was great with lots of outside seating overlooking the sea and the Old Town. The outdoor pool area was perfect with plenty of sunbeds and very helpful staff on hand to bring out drinks. You look at out the sea and can watch the sporting activities and boats come into the harbour. From the pool you take about two steps to jump into the sea! We will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic location and viewsPosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Location, breakfast, cocktail bar, poolside and views The pool was salt water so no chlorine, I liked that, also plenty of places to jump into the sea
Cons: Air con struggled a bit in room, though it was 37 outside, so was noisy at night sleeping as it was on full blast all the time
Location: Amazing location, all on a rock cliff face looking out onto Lokrum Island and sea. Old Town was only 5-10 min walk away, also the hotel was very quiet
Lovely hotel, in great location and views, only 5-10 min walk to old town. Really enjoyed my stay, although the air con in rooms struggled a bit but it was 37 outside, other than that everything else was superb, breakfast was good and great views of Lokrum island and old town whilst you ate. The cocktail bar was fantastic also with great views, and great place to sip a pina colada whilst watching the sunset , a very romantic place. The staff are friendly enough though little cold at times but they do do a good job and everyone spoke good English. One thing though was not enough sunbeds for everyone so reserve yours quick in morning, 8am there are plenty but come 10am and all gone. Overall had fantastic holiday and would gladly stay here again.

Best kept secret in DubrovnikPosted Jul 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Amazing. The Grand Villa Argentina is a top flight hotel with an amazing view of the old city and within walking distance (i.e. you don't get the crowds but get all the benefits). Villa Glavic is an apartment room across the street with lower prices but all the benefits of the more expensive hotel. NICE!

Excellent HotelPosted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: Private swimming area in the sea
Location: Great location, a short walk from the old town.
We stayed for one week and had a great time. The buffet breakfast had a large selection on offer and was well stocked. We were expecting it to run out but the staff kept refreshing everything. The hotel has a private swimming area in the sea, and also internal and external pools. All staff were very friendly and helpfull. There was also an excursions desk open all day where tours and trips could be booked. The hotel is a short walk (10-15minutes) from the old town, just far enough away to be in a quiet area of town.

Quiet location, amazing views, 5* all the way!Posted May 9, 2013
Pros: Lovely balcony near reception, enjoy a glass of wine or pot of tea (with homemade biscuits) whilst watching the boats in and out of the old harbour
Location: The location is a 10 minute walk from the old town, nice to wander in during the day or in the evening.
Fabulous hotel - actually part of the Vila Argentina across the road. We had lovely corner room with 2 windows - 1 facing the sea, the other the old town. Going across the quiet road to breakfast in the Argentina was no problem at all. Breakfast was served on a wonderful terrace overlooking the old town. The hotel served one of the best breakfasts I have ever had - hot and cold choice, including eggs several ways, pancakes, local meats and cheeses. .
