Room and staff

Posted Jul 9, 2015
My visit was for a funeral so it was not a fun visit. The staff were good and the room was clean and spacy. It was a short visit and did not spend much time at the hotel.

arrived for wedding

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: everything
Location: Dubuque Iowa we were there for our granddaughters wedding!
had to go fine someone for front desk. young person who was cleaning came said can't check in till 3 and turned around and started to leave. I said no I need to speak to a front desk person or manager. Person cam said check in is 3:30. I said sign says 3. she said no rooms are ready. We were about hour and half early. I said surely a room of some sort is ready, please check. Finally after some discussion she said one would be ready in a half hour. We had to be at rehearsal at 4. We were told by expedia it would be a suite, it was just a double. I understood suites have a couch and small seating area. As we walked down the hall to our room many doors were open showing very very dirty rooms waiting to be cleaned. Saw a lot of staff standing around or out side smoking. Needless to say I will never stay at a Baymont again!!! continental breakfast was a joke!!

Nicely priced hotel close to downtown area

Posted Jun 23, 2015
The rooms were smaller than pictured online. I could tell it was an older hotel that had been redone. Overall it was pretty clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was decent. The pool area was ok, it would have been better if there was a hottub. It was strange that the sauna was on the opposite end of the building from the pool. It would have been nice to have separate staff for the bar area.

Very run down property, needs updates badly !! Room was clean but smelled as someone had smoked in there. It was a non smoking room.

nice motel close to family

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: well maintained
Cons: larger pool
Location: we were just there for graduation.
rented 3 rooms for our family, we came for a graduation. Rooms were very nice, had very comfortable beds and pillows. Although the ballplayers that were staying here were noisy and not so nice, they were not supervised by their superiors. Breakfast room was well stocked and had room for the families.

Pros: Priced right and amenities.
Cons: the heat lamp did not work in the bathroom.
Location: Hobby Lobby next door. Shuttles to the casino. Aquarium and Museum close. The historic shot tower. Galena Illinois home of Ullysis Grant near by.
I booked a reservation with another hotel but when I saw the room and no amenities and expensive price I cancelled my reservation and went to the Baymont. It was less expensive had a pool and breakfast. I was a little disappointed that there was no hot tub but staff was very nice, room was clean and comfortable. Close to shopping with shuttles to the casino. Would recommend.
