OK hotel.

Pros: Nice granite in bathroom, desk in room with USB charge port. Good WiFi. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Evidence of water damage in bathroom ceiling and wall. More breakfast options.
Heater/air conditioner creaks for a long time after running. Breakfast options rather small.

Pros: Updated rooms
Cons: The outside appearance
no signage on the hwy to find the hotel...outside of the hotel is very dumpy looking...walked in the door to an extreme musty smell...desk clerk was friendly enough...ice machine on our floor did not work so they had a dirty cooler with ice in sitting next to the machine...rooms were updated, clean and acceptable...very close to busy railroad tracks

a great place to be.

Pros: well just about everything the quite and nice place to stay.
Cons: nothing
Location: the location is fine with me, not much to do around there because its away from everything not even a fast food place to eat. needs that the most.
would stay here again in a second. a very pleasant place to stay in the woods, away from the husel and brusel of the city. again love this place.

Need's improvement!!!

Posted Oct 18, 2014
It is very difficult to find!!! The office isn't even connected to the hotel. The paint was chipping off of the building. I accidently forgot my pillow in the room and called back after I got home from my trip. I couldn't understand the lady at the other end of the phone and I ask to speak to someone that spoke English. She tried to help but she was new to the job and couldn't assist me. I was asking about getting my pillow shipped to me and also ask how to become one of the reward members as we had stayed at the Sleepy Inn the second night away from home. I was told someone would call me the following day and haven't heard from anyone to this day!!!

20th Anniversary Weekend

Posted Sep 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for our 20th anniversary! At first from the outside we thought Oh No! what did we book but once inside the room we were very surprised at the wonderful upgrades! Breakfast was great! the had waffle maker & biscuts & gravy! My husband was in heaven! A bit low on the fruit selection but overall a great stay & would stay here next trip! Was very close to everything in dubuque & Galena was a short drive! Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it was nice size 7 will make sure to take a dip next trip!

Nice Hotel

Posted Sep 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is nice, and seems well setup for serving the golf course and nearby attractions in Galena and Dubuque. The common areas (hallways, parking lot, lobby) are not in bad shape, but do seem a bit dated. The rooms were very nice, and seem to have been updated recently. Breakfast was good, and though we didn't use it, the pool seemed well cared for. The rooms opened to the outside on the first level, making it convenient to bring bags, golf clubs, etc. in.

Standard motel quality, rude staff

Decent motel. Housekeeping started knocking 10 minutes before 11am check out time. When I requested late check out as a choice privileges member, I was only offered till noon (should be 2pm)

Very convenient location

We thought we had booked the hotel in Dubuque Iowa, to our surprise it was in Illinois, just few miles away to downtown, and museums. We love the hotel, and the location
