“Great for our purposes”

The room was clean and the room was great for our stay. The only negative is that appliances and decor are outdated, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

“Timmerman's Stay”

For the money it was good. It was clean. There was a smell but I got a room freshner and it was fine. The only thing I found not nice was the toilet seat. I swear its been there since it opened. We will stay there again if we get that way. Went to the Supper Club and the food was very good.

“Quiet, clean, off-season resort hotel”

We chose Timmermans because it was conveniently located and economically priced during the off-season. It was quiet and comfortable. There were some fixures that were old and could use replacements. The continental breakfast was pretty dry, but it was a quiet place to rest.

We enjoyed our stay at Timmerman's. It isan older hotel that they have done a nice job remodeling. It was a cold weekend and they had the heat on in our room when we got there:) Nice location nestled between our Dubuque/Galena getaway!

“Not Impressed”

The Hotel was nothing like it was advertised online. We were not surprised or impressed at all. Before booking I had called to find out if they had a gym and they had stated they did. When we went to the gym it was a conference room with two machines. One was an elliptical and the other was a treadmill. very disappointed.

“Not bad, but....”

First of all, the bathroom and showers weren't that great. Secondly, I'm pretty sure they have bed bugs. I was covered with bites the next morning. Other than that, it was fine.

“Just a place to sleep”

The hotel was nice, the rooms were clean, but eveything is old. Looks as though it was built (or last renovated) in the 80's. If you are looking for some place affordable to crash, this hotel was fine, indoor pool and coninental breakfast, but nothing fancy!

“beautiful scenery- great place to watch tree colors”

Timmermans is on a bluff very close to the Mississippi River and a beautiful place to see fall colors - especially from the restaurant. One of my concerns was with the coffee maker which left a musty taste and film on the coffee. Went downstairs for the continental breakfast which left much to be desired. The was an opened gallon of milk and and an opened bottle of O.J. and an opened container of cream cheese were left in the refrigerator for all to use. Split hard-boiled eggs on a tray were on the counter with a plastic cover over the dish. I felt this display of the food allowed too much room for contamination by inappropriate and/or unintentional handling. The waffle iron seemed to be working on one side only because after 5 minutes (instead of 2 1/2 minutes as indicated) the waffle still was not crisp. The continental breakfast - MUCH TOO BE DESIRED.
